Abstract: A cabinet includes a rigid housing having an opening at the forward side thereof with vertical guide tracks defined at opposite sides of the opening. A roller subassembly is mounted in the upper portion of the housing over the opening and is driven in rotation about a horizontal axis by a motor. A segmented glass curtain made up of contiguous, elongated, parallel glass slats of rectangular configuration closes the opening in the housing. Each glass slat is supported in metal corner brackets interconnected so that adjacent longitudinal edges of adjacent slats are in close proximity, and the slat ends project into the guide tracks. Flexible cables interconnect the corner brackets to maintain the spacial relationship of the slats. Ends of the cables are connected to the roller subassembly and the curtain is rolled up on the roller subassembly to open the opening in the housing.
Abstract: The circuit arrangement has a plurality of comparators (3, 4, 5) and the measuring voltage on the one hand and different reference voltages on the other hand are present at the inputs (8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13) of the comparators, and the outputs (14, 15, 16) of the comparators (3, 4, 5) contain the measurement signal. Less effort than that in accordance with the state of the art is required in that the reference voltage for the second comparator (4) is controllable with the aid of the output signal of the first comparator (3) and that the reference voltage for the third comparator (5) is controllable with the aid of the output signal of the second comparator (4), and that the measurement signal can be represented with the aid of the total of all output signals of all comparators (3, 4, 5).
Abstract: A method of processing pulp laps and a soluble strap material for holding such laps in a bale are disclosed. In accordance with the method the laps are maintained in the configuration of the bale by soluble straps comprised of PVA and are immersed in a pulping bath while still confined by the straps. The straps rupture and dissolve in the pulping bath releasing the paper laps. The straps are formed to maximize exposure of the PVA increments to the pulping bath to accelerate dissolving and may incorporate fillers of pulpable material to maintain the PVA increments in a separated condition.

Abstract: A screen tensioning and framing device comprising two opposing pairs of bars, the opposing bars being generally parallel to each other, means for attaching an edge portion of the screen to each of the bars, and means for pulling each of the bars to create tension in the screen.
Abstract: The invention concerns a torsionally elastic clutch whose clutch halves are nested in disk fashion and feature window-shaped cutouts which house tangentially arranged helical springs, with an outer guide body arranged in the outer peripheral area of the individual spring and preventing the spring from buckling, which body is shorter than the spring. The clutch is characterized in that an inner guide body is provided also within the individual spring, which body is shorter than the spring, and in that the two guide bodies are in relation to the spring fixed in such a way that one guide body will remain constantly coordinated with the one end area of the spring and the other guide body constantly with the other end area of the spring.

Abstract: Each fixation member is mounted on a mechanism for setting inclination of the seat back and is formed of a casing so shaped to receive a dagger fixed to each lower end of the seat back armature. The dagger is held within the casing by being wedged with assistance of a part made of a central serrated roller and two lateral smooth extensions of smaller diameters enabling the roller to rotate freely inside openings formed in the casing and to be pushed by at least one spring for wedging the roller between the dagger and said casing.

Abstract: In a flotation system, the generated quantity of foam is determined and, independent thereof, process parameters which directly or indirectly affect the generated foam quantity are reduced in their quantity depending on foam quantity. This is brought about by reduction of specific substance flows and also such substance flows that circulate in a flotation system. Production waters used for dilution are partly replaced by fresh water. This precludes an excessive amount of generated foam from causing difficulties in the operation of a flotation system.
Abstract: A compactor and blade attachment for a front-end loader. The attachment comprises a compaction drum that is journalled for rotation on the side plates of the frame. A vibratory mechanism is connected to the drum to vibrate the drum and aid in the compaction. A blade is secured to the frame and is located ahead of the drum in the direction of movement of the loader. A pair of lift arms of the loader are pivoted to the lower end of the frame, while a pair of tilt arms of the loader are pivoted to the upper portion of the frame. By operation of the tilt arms, the frame can be tilted about the pivotal connections of the lift arms to thereby selectively move the blade between a non-operative position above the level of the lower surface of the drum to an operative position beneath the level of the drum where the blade will engage the terrain.
Abstract: A built-in bale ejector for use in a trash compactor comprises an elongated band which is fastened at one end to the floor portion of the compactor cabinet at a front edge thereof and which passes between the floor and a box in which the refuse is to be compacted and then up the inside rear wall of the compactor to a predetermined height. The compactor includes a vertically movable compaction plate which can be driven in reciprocal fashion downward into the box to compress the refuse therein and upward to a "ready" position. When it is desired to eject a filled box, a spring-loaded take-up reel mechanism coupled to the compaction plate can be latched against rotation by a locking mechanism. When so locked, the return stroke of the compaction plate pulls the band tight and thus urges the box filled with the compacted trash to be ejected out through the door opening of the compactor cabinet.
Abstract: A method and system for producing a toll ticketing record for a call with a mobile subscriber moving within the cells of at least two exchanges and generating a toll ticketing record of the call which includes sections which are related to the intersystem legs of the call.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a function unit for electronic equipment, comprising a center plane with contact pins mounted thereon, distribution boards which can be inserted at right angles to the center plane, from both sides thereof, and circuit boards capable of being connected in plane-parallel with the distribution boards. In accordance with the invention, the center plane is provided with groups of contact pins disposed in rows and columns, the pins being isolated electrically from the center plane and extending therethrough. The contact pins are disposed along one whole edge margin of the center plane in a terminal field which can be reached from one side of the center plane. The distribution boards along the edge margin which faces towards the center plane are provided with a contact device adapted to mate with the contact pins, whereas the opposing edge margin is provided with one or more contact devices for connection of a coinciding number of circuit boards.
Abstract: A combination lock for a safe or the like is provided that is fully computerized and self powered. A rotary dial is connected to a stepper motor/generator to provide the electrical power to a capacitor to power the system. The stepper motor/generator also provides input signals in the form of a code sequence to a microprocessor that processes the signals to initiate the operation of a drive motor to release a lock bolt once the proper combination is dialed. A read only memory (ROM) determines the proper combination from a combination storage means and feeds the combination to the microprocessor for comparison to the inputted signals from the dial. As each combination dialing sequence is begun, a random code initiator provides a different starting position in the sequence so that electronic or visual surveillance equipment cannot be used to surreptitiously obtain the combination.

The retaining member includes an omega-shaped clasp portion which extends generaly perpendicular therefrom and which is operative with the spring loaded plunger means to lock the pin.
Abstract: A device for modifying the undesirable behavior of animals is disclosed which utilizes integrated circuitry to achieve a small size and light weight. Discrimination circuitry analyzes audible indications of undesirable animal behavior. Upon detection of undesirable behavior, sound generation circuitry produces a pattern of high-intensity sounds known to cause aversive behavior in animals. The staccato pattern varied, so that animal habituation to the sounds is avoided. Circuitry is provided for increasing or decreasing the effective intensity of the sounds according to the behavior of the animal over a previous time interval.
