  • Patent number: 9900805
Abstract: A technique is provided for synchronizing a first call state of a network component and a second call state of a mobile device. The mobile device is connectable to a network via a first Radio Access Technology (RAT) and a second RAT. The network forwards towards a callee an invitation for a call originating via the first RAT from the mobile device. The network sends a first message corresponding to a callee response towards the mobile device. The network component triggers a transfer of the call session of the mobile device from the first RAT to the second RAT. The first call state is set by the response of the callee. Information indicative of the second call state is received from the mobile device, and a second message for changing the second call state by the response is provided to the mobile device when inconsistent first and second call states.

  • Patent number: 9900806
Abstract: A method and apparatus for handling a call transfer from a circuit switched access network to a packet switched access network. A Mobile Switching Centre Server receives a notification that a call for a terminal requires handover from a circuit switched access network to a packet switched access network. The MSC Server determines whether the terminal is currently registered in an IMS network and/or whether the MSC Server is registered such that it can perform handover from the circuit switched access network to the packet switched access network. If so, then return Single Radio Voice Call Continuity is invoked to perform a handover of the call from the circuit switched access network to the packet switched access network. If not then the MSC Server invokes error handling procedures.

  • Patent number: 9894585
Abstract: A method in a base station for handling sector selection is provided. A wireless terminal is connected to a first sector comprised in a combined cell. When a quality of the communication resources in the first sector is below a first threshold, the base station determines that the first sector is no longer the best sector for the wireless terminal. Then the base station sends an order to the wireless terminal to initiate a random access procedure in the combined cell. The base station then selects a second sector in the combined cell based on measurements of signal strength of random access preambles received from the wireless terminal in each respective sector in the combined cell. The random access preambles are received from the wireless terminal in the initiated random access procedure. The second sector is selected for the wireless terminal to communicate in.

  • Patent number: 9888876
Abstract: The present invention, referred to as Oasis is Automated Statistical Inference for Segmentation (OASIS), is a fully automated and robust statistical method for cross-sectional MS lesion segmentation. Using intensity information from multiple modalities of MRI, a logistic regression model assigns voxel-level probabilities of lesion presence. The OASIS model produces interpretable results in the form of regression coefficients that can be applied to imaging studies quickly and easily. OASIS uses intensity-normalized brain MRI volumes, enabling the model to be robust to changes in scanner and acquisition sequence. OASIS also adjusts for intensity inhomogeneities that preprocessing bias field correction procedures do not remove, using BLUR volumes. This allows for more accurate segmentation of brain areas that are highly distorted by inhomogeneities, such as the cerebellum.

  • Patent number: 9894380
Abstract: Provided is an apparatus for encoding a moving picture that determines a quantization step size of a previous coding block according to scan order as the quantization step size predictor of the current coding block when a quantization step size of a left coding block of a current coding block and a quantization step size of an above coding block of the current coding block are unavailable and determines an available motion vector encountered first when retrieving motion vectors in the order of motion vector of a first predetermined position and motion vector of a second predetermined position in a reference picture as a temporal motion vector candidate. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the amount of coding bits required to encode motion information and the quantization step size of the current prediction block.

  • Patent number: 9894706
Abstract: A method by a user equipment node (UE) is disclosed for discontinuous reception (DRX) of traffic from a source radio access network (S-RAN) node of a telecommunications system. The method includes determining whether a condition occurred that can trigger initiation of handover to a target RAN (T-RAN) node. Based on determining the condition has not occurred, a selection is made among a plurality of service-specific DRX configurations based on a service type of the traffic from the S-RAN node, and DRX by the UE of traffic from the S-RAN node is controlled based on the selected service-specific DRX configuration. Based on determining the condition has occurred, DRX by the UE of traffic from the S-RAN node is controlled based on a service-agnostic DRX configuration that is agnostic to the service type of the traffic from the S-RAN node. Related UEs, methods by a RANs, and RANs are disclosed.
