Patent number: 5413143Abstract: A rotary valve assembly is disclosed in which a rotary valve member is located within a casing having one or more fluid inlets and a plurality of fluid outlets. The rotary valve member has a fluid conduit which extends in a generally radial direction and which communicates with the fluid inlet. Fluid orifices communicate with the fluid conduit and exit through opposite sides of the rotary valve member to thereby minimize, or eliminate altogether, axial forces acting on the rotary valve member. Fluid outlet passages communicate with the two fluid orifices during at least part of the rotation of the rotary valve member to direct the pressurized fluid to the valve outlets. The rotary valve may include a pair of rotary valve members drivingly connected to each other such that they rotate synchronously. The connection may include gear teeth formed on the adjacent peripheries of the rotary valve members such that rotation of one of the valve members causes rotation of the other.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1994Date of Patent: May 9, 1995Assignee: Societe Nationale D'Etude et de Construction de Moteurs D'Aviation S.N.E.C.M.A.Inventors: Guy d'Agostino, Jean-Marie Brocard, Pierre G. Patent number: 5414752Abstract: A method and a system is disclosed for achieving communication between a customer of a service which can be supplied over a telecommunication network and a supplier of the service. A service order from the customer passes to a service order central where it is parked and allotted an order identity which is transferred through a signal connection together with the order. The service supplier can, himself, configure the method in which the service shall be delivered and the service supplier himself takes the initiative of creating a communication connection with the service order central and therewith refers to the order identity. When the communication connection has been established, the connection is coupled by the service order central with the parked call from the customer and delivery of the service can commence. A method which utilizes the service of subsidiary suppliers is also possible.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 1993Date of Patent: May 9, 1995Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M EricssonInventor: Bjorn E. Patent number: 5412949Abstract: A fuel distribution system for a gas-turbine engine is disclosed which ensures homogenous fuel supply to all fuel injectors in order to avoid local fuel oversupplies that might cause local overheating of the turbine blades. The fuel system compensates for the deleterious load factors experienced by the aircraft and the gas turbine engine that affect the fuel distribution to the fuel injectors. The system supplies fuel to a plurality of fuel injectors arranged in an annular array so as to inject fuel into an annular combustion chamber of the gas turbine engine. The system has a closed loop, generally annular fuel connector line and a plurality of fuel distributors connected in parallel to the fuel connector line so that fuel passes into a central chamber of each of the distributors. Each fuel distributor has end chambers on opposite ends of the central chamber in which are movably located pistons whose positions within the end chambers open or close a fuel outlet in communication with each of the end chambers.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 1994Date of Patent: May 9, 1995Assignee: Societe Nationale D'Etude et de Construction de Moteurs D'Aviation S.N.E.C.M.A.Inventor: Patrick R. Patent number: 5411713Abstract: An ozone generating apparatus has a plurality of ozone generating units connected in series to form a plurality of stages along the flow path of a gas. Each ozone generating unit has an ozonizing chamber having a material gas inlet and a product gas outlet and ozonizer discharge electrodes disposed in the ozonizing chamber and connected to an AC high-voltage source. The voltage applied to said ozonizing discharge electrodes of each successive stages is so varied that the ozonizing discharge electrodes of each downstream stage, as viewed in the direction of flow of the gas, is supplied with a lower voltage than the voltage supplied to said ozonizer discharge electrodes of an adjacent upstream stage. A series connection of a plurality of ozone generating units can form a composite ozone generating unit, and a plurality of such composite units may be connected in series to form a plurality of stages. The voltages applied to such successive stages is varied in the same manner a above.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 1992Date of Patent: May 2, 1995Assignee: I.T.M. CorporationInventor: Masao Iwanaga

Patent number: 5411564Abstract: Both blow-and-blow and press-and-blow plunger mechanisms for use in forming a parison from a gob of fluid glass in a individual section (IS) of a glassware forming machine are fully pneumatically controlled. Plunger and thimble pistons affirmatively position a thimble and a plunger in consistently repeatable positions during loading of the gob, counterblowing or pressing an initial opening in the parison, and transferring the formed parison. No springs or other mechanical components which are prone to cause inconsistencies or failures are employed. The plunger mechanism is preferably suspended from the frame of the IS by a plunger case assembly to avoid the problems associated with a support foot. The plunger case assembly allows the plunger mechanisms to be easily interchanged or replaced, to be adjusted to accommodate different types of operation and sizes and configurations of glass article produced, while still communicating pressurized air to the plunger mechanisms to achieve these effects.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 1992Date of Patent: May 2, 1995Assignee: I.M.T.E.C. Patent number: 5408903Abstract: A screw gun drive is adapted to adjust itself automatically to the pitch of the threading of the screw being driven. For this purpose a spindle-type spring biassed coupling is provided between the screw driving blade and the drive shaft of the motor. As a result of such a coupling the screw driving blade first begins a rotational movement when the drive motor is switched on, and then it superimposes an automatic axial feed advance which adapts itself to the pitch of the screw being driven. An adjustment member provides for adjusting the spindle coupling to the length of the screws being driven.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 1993Date of Patent: April 25, 1995Assignee: Karl M. Patent number: 5410675Abstract: A method for restructuring input data having a prespecified input data structure with a data management engine, such as a translation engine, which is dynamically configured by the input data to conform the input data to an output data structure. When the data management engine takes the form of a translation engine, capability exists to translate data to and from various electronic data interchange (EDI) formats. Because the data management engine is dynamically configured by the input data, the translation process is independent of the specific details of EDI protocol and capable of coordinating multiple data sources/destinations without requiring any recoding of the engine. Initially, data protocol utilized in the data interchange system is ascertained. Then, the protocol data related to the data protocol and protocol processing instruction data is initialized.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 1993Date of Patent: April 25, 1995Assignee: Lisa M.
