  • Patent number: 7519401
Abstract: User equipment (UE) in a cellular telecommunications system is operated such that the UE begins operating in a power saving state when a first set of predefined criteria have been satisfied, and leaves the power saving state when a second set of predefined criteria have been satisfied. Determining satisfaction of the first set of predefined criteria includes making a plurality of signal quality measurements of a signal received from a serving cell in the telecommunications system, and making a plurality of signal quality measurements of a signal received from one or more neighboring cells. A first trend line is determined from the signal quality measurements of the serving cell, and a second trend line is determined from the signal quality measurements of the one or more neighboring cells. The first set of predefined criteria are considered to have been satisfied if the first and second trend lines are not converging.

  • Patent number: 7519079
Abstract: A system and method are described herein that are capable of reducing overhead while keeping the traffic separation characteristics between two routers by establishing and using a generic routing encapsulation (GRE) tunnel directly over a link running a point-to-point protocol (PPP) that connects the two routers. Because, the system and method run GRE sessions directly over the PPP link means there is no need to configure the GRE tunnel over an Internet Protocol (IP) connection which means that outer IP header information does not need to be sent across the link. The elimination of the outer IP header reduces the overhead in the traffic sent between the two routers.

  • Publication number: 20090092699
Abstract: An injection mold for a multi insert container is provided, which includes a plurality of cavities, formed in order between a fixed mold and a movable mold that constitute an injection mold, for performing an insert molding of the multi insert container by stages, wherein an insert injection molding is performed simultaneously with a successive supply of molded products to the respective cavities. According to the injection mold, since a multi insert molding is performed through movement of the molded products by stages in the single mold, the workability is improved in comparison to a conventional insert molding method that uses a plurality of molds, and the molding conditions of the molded products are kept uniform to achieve a good quality of the molded products.

  • Patent number: 7514005
Abstract: A method for processing drilling fluid comprising an oil and water emulsion and solid material includes breaking the emulsion into an oil phase and a water phase, increasing the surface area of the solid material, adsorbing at least some of the water phase to the increased surface area of the solid material, and recovering at least some of the oil phase. The drilling fluid may be moved within a container to break the emulsion and increase the surface area of the solids material. Water phase or solid material may be added to the drilling fluid to maximize the amount of water phase adsorbed into the solid material and minimize the amount of oil phase adsorbed to the solid material. The drilling fluid may be processed while being transported between locations. The solid material may be dried in a thermal dryer to vaporize and recover the water phase and any adsorbed oil phase.

  • Patent number: 7515540
Abstract: A device and method for controlling data unit communications between a sender and a receiver, and flexibly responding to a potential date loss event. Data units are transmitted from the sender to the receiver, and the receiver returns an acknowledgment data unit for each data unit received. If the receiver falls to receive a data unit, the sender retransmits the data unit in accordance with a data unit loss response procedure. If the potentially lost data unit is subsequently received, the sender determines whether the correctly received data unit was the initial data unit or the retransmission. If the correctly received data unit was the retransmission, the sender continues to transmit subsequent data units in accordance with the date unit loss response procedure. However, if the correctly received data unit was the initial data unit the sender transmits subsequent data units in accordance with an excessive delay response procedure.

  • Patent number: 7515872
Abstract: A distributed caching and redistribution system, method, and mobile client for caching and redistributing data content in a wireless data network. The system enables mobile clients to cache data content that has been distributed by means of broadcast or multicast, and to redistribute the content from the cache to other users. Using anycast techniques applied to the PLMN, a user who wants to retrieve data that was distributed earlier locates the nearest user that has the content available, and asks the nearest user to forward the content. The “nearest” user may be the closest user, but may also be the optimal user from a Quality of Service (QoS) point of view.
