  • Gun
    Patent number: 6752061
Abstract: A gun whose barrel (2′) is connected to a breech ring (16), and is seated to be displaced in a cradle barrel (3). To prevent a lifting effect of the barrel (2′) inside the cradle barrel (3) upon firing, a slide-bushing bearing is disposed on at least the muzzle side of the barrel (2′). The bearing encompasses a barrel bushing (7′), in which the barrel (2′) is disposed free from any lifting effect, and whose outside surface (8) slides in a form-fit (i.e., with the smallest possible amount of play) in the cradle barrel (3), so that the barrel (2′) is independently guided to slide both axially and radially. The radial sliding guidance of the barrel (2′) during firing is effected by tab-shaped protrusions (10′), which extend into corresponding, groove-shaped recesses (9′) of the barrel bushing (7′) and hold the barrel (2′) in the center of the barrel bushing (7′).

  • Patent number: 6754824
Abstract: A telecommunications system and method is disclosed for implementing a message authentication code (MAC) for transmitted digital information signals. Digital information signals typically include an error detecting code, such as a Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) code, to ensure reliable delivery of the information. In order to verify the identity of the sending node, the CRC code can be modulated by a sequence known only to the participating nodes. Thus, the CRC code not only provides an error detecting function, but also serves as a message authentication code.

  • Publication number: 20040115199
Abstract: The invention provides a novel method for down-regulating the biological activity of osteoprotegerin ligand (OPGL, TRANCE) thereby rendering possible the treatment/amelioration of diseases characterized by excessive loss of bone mass, e.g. osteoporosis. Down-regulation is effected by inducing an immune response against OPGL in an individual in need thereof. Immune responses can be raised by classical immunization with immunogenic variants of OPGL or by nucleic acid immunization where the nucleic acids encode the OPGL variant. The invention also pertains to compositions, polypeptides and nucleic acids useful in the invention, as well as to vectors and transformed host cells useful in the preparation thereof.

  • Patent number: 6750416
Abstract: The invention describes a method for measuring and classifying resistors (2), in which in a measuring station (3) the resistance value of the resistor (2) supplied by a feed and transport device (12) of the measuring station (3) is measured. The measured resistance value is transmitted to an evaluation unit (40) of a control device (20). The resistor (2) is delivered sorted according to predetermined measurement ranges into an output device (25) arranged after the measuring station (3). The resistor (2) is heated to a predefined nominal temperature by a temperature regulating device (7), in particular by a medium (9). After reaching this nominal temperature the resistor (2) is contacted in the medium (9). Afterwards the measurement of the resistor (2) is carried out.
