  • Publication number: 20150029765
Abstract: The invention comprises a high frequency inductor filter apparatus coupled with an inverter yielding high frequency harmonics and/or non-sixty Hertz output. For example, an inductor/converter apparatus is provided using a silicon carbide transistor that outputs power having a carrier frequency, modulated by a fundamental frequency, and a set of harmonic frequencies. A filter, comprising an inductor having a distributed gap core material and optional magnet wires, receives power output from the inverter/converter and processes the power by passing the fundamental frequency while reducing amplitude of the harmonic frequencies.

  • Patent number: 8474629
Abstract: A tramp metal separation device for removing contaminants from a stream of raw materials that is being conveyed by a pneumatic conveying line. The tramp metal separation device includes a first housing, a drawer, and at least one actuator. The first housing has an inlet and an outlet that are connectable to the pneumatic conveying line. The drawer is supported with respect to the first housing such that the drawer is moveable between an extended position, where a plurality of magnets are positioned within the first housing and a retracted position, where the magnets are positioned outside of the first housing. A wiper assembly removes contaminants from the magnets as the drawer moves from the extended position to the retracted position. The actuator moves the drawer between its extended position and its retracted position.

  • Patent number: 8456033
Abstract: A cellular communication tower is adapted to support a vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) that includes a generator mechanism. The signal and power cable for the communication antennas run through the central axis or bore of the generator. The blades of the VAWT are disposed so as to avoid interferences with communication signals. The tower preferably deploys an open truss construction to avoid the impact of periodic pressure pulse as the turning blades shift out of alignment from shading the tower. Thus, with an open truss tower the turbine blades can be a larger size and still not cause such pressure pulses.

  • Publication number: 20120223792
Abstract: The invention comprises a phase change inductor cooling system. The cooling system uses a non-conductive refrigerant in proximate and/or in direct contact with an inductor. Heat from the inductor changes the refrigerant from a liquid to a gas phase, which removes heat from the inductor. The gas phase refrigerant is subsequently removed from the inductor to remove heat from the environment about the inductor. The refrigerant is optionally recirculated using the steps of condensing and/or compressing the refrigerant prior to reintroduction into the environment proximate and/or in direct contact with the inductor.
