  • Publication number: 20020077740
Abstract: In an engine connected to an electric machine functioning in particular as a starter-generator, the rotor of the electric machine is connected nonrotatably to the crankshaft, the electric machine has a control unit for controlling the electric machine, and the electric machine also has a device for determining the angular position of the rotor with respect to the stator. So that the crankshaft angle can be determined in a simple, rapid, and reliable manner and in particular so that it can be determined even at the slowest crankshaft rpm's, the current angular position of the rotor is detected by a device for determining the angular position and transmitted to the control unit. The corresponding current crankshaft angle is then determined in the control unit on the basis of the detected rotor angle values. The crankshaft angle determined in this way is transmitted from the control unit of the electric machine to the control unit of the engine.

  • Patent number: 6398655
Abstract: A torsional vibration damper is embodied with a drive-side transmission element and an output-side transmission element, one of which is connected to the gear element of a gear active between the two transmission elements. The gear element is placed into movement during relative movements of the two transmission elements. The gear element is effective as the drive for at least one mass associated with it. Upon a position change of the mass relative to the rotational center of the transmission elements, a change occurs in the moment of inertia caused by the mass. • Patent number: 6394243
Abstract: A clutch device within whose housing a first fluid chamber and a second fluid chamber are separated by a piston which is movable by a fluid pressure differential between the fluid chambers. The piston serves to actuate a friction clutch whose friction surfaces are arranged in the first fluid chamber. Fluid can be guided through the first fluid chamber independent from the fluid pressure in the second fluid chamber in order to conduct frictional heat away from the friction clutch and its friction surfaces. For this purpose, fluid passages through which fluid allocated to the first fluid chamber can flow are allocated to the friction surfaces.
