  • Patent number: 10454798
Abstract: A method for adjusting an arrival time of a first orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) data unit of an uplink multi-user (MU) data unit is described. Respective round trip times (RTTs) are determined by a first communication device for multiple communication devices that communicate with the first communication device. A first time offset for a second communication device of the multiple communication devices is determined by the first communication device based on the respective RTTs. The first OFDM data unit is to be transmitted by the second communication device. A first timing control message that indicates the first time offset is generated by the first communication device. The first timing control message is caused by the first communication device to be transmitted to the second communication device.

  • Patent number: 10454719
Abstract: A receiver includes a channel estimation module, a delay spread module, and a smoothing module. The channel estimation module generates a channel estimate for a channel in frequency domain based on a signal received through the channel in time domain. The delay spread module determines a delay spread of the channel in the time domain. The delay spread is an amount of time after which a channel response drops to less than or equal to a predetermined threshold. The smoothing module smooths the channel estimate by applying a filter with unequal taps in the frequency domain. The taps are based on the delay spread. The filter does not attenuate samples of the channel response within the delay spread in the time domain. The filter attenuates noise outside the delay spread of the channel.

  • Patent number: 10439864
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein provide a method for operation, administration and maintenance (OAM) of data message transmission. The method comprises reading a transmit register of a transmitter associate with a first management entity to determine a transmit status of the transmit register. The method further comprises loading a data message into the transmit register when the transmit status of the transmit register indicates availability. The method further comprises embedding the data message as an out-of-band message with physical code sublayer modulation, and transmitting the out-of-band message on the physical code sublayer to a receiver associated with a second management entity. A transmit state machine of the transmitter and a receive state machine of the receiver establish a handshake to allow the out-of-band message to be passed asynchronously.

  • Patent number: 10432556
Abstract: A network device determines that a frame priority of a received frame is a value corresponding to an audio video bridging (AVB) communication protocol. When the network device determines that a destination address of the frame is not included in a database having network addresses, the network device prevents the frame from being transmitted according to the AVB communication protocol, including either (i) dropping the frame, or (ii) transmitting the frame only from a first set of one or more ports of the network device according to a communication protocol that is different than the AVB communication protocol. When the network device determines that the frame is permitted to be transmitted according to the AVB communication protocol, the network device transmits the frame from a second set of one or more ports according to the AVB communication protocol.

  • Patent number: 10420034
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide methods and systems for adaptively controlling uplink communications parameters of a receiving station by an access point. In some embodiments, the uplink power and/or uplink rate of a receiving station is controlled by the access point based on uplink RSSI and/or SNR measurements of uplink packets sent by the receiving station to the access point. For example, the access point may adjust a target RSSI value based on the uplink RSSI and/or SNR measurements of uplink packets in the allocated resource unit. The adjusted target RSSI value is sent to the receiving station in a trigger frame from the access point and the receiving station may then set the uplink transmission power based on the target RSSI value.
