Abstract: A thermal insulation injection gun includes a pointed nozzle that prevents blocking of the nozzle by a distal panel of a building cavity and/or by pre-existing insulation within the cavity. In embodiments, the pointed nozzle can be pressed through a panel, thereby forming the injection hole. An enhancement port can be provided through which an enhancing material such as a carrier fluid, particulate or fibrous insulating material, a binder, or a fire retardant can be added and mixed with the insulating material. Embodiments include expanding nozzle wings that can compress pre-existing insulation to create a space on a proximal or distal side thereof for injecting the insulation. A compressible sheath installed over the nozzle can prevent dripping of excess insulation from the panel hole. Exchangeable collars can be used to fix an insertion depth of the nozzle and/or to block selected lateral dispensing ports of the nozzle.
Abstract: A controller for a wall cavity insulation injection system monitors foam precursor dispensing from storage vessels, in embodiments via flow gauges and/or scales, and improves dispense volume accuracy and/or quality by providing audible, verbal information to the operator, enabling injection of high expansion foams without wall blowout. Embodiments verbally up-count or down-count elapsed time, dispensed quantities, and/or filled volumes to enable dispensing without cavity volume input. Other embodiments accept cavity volume input and down-count to a required time, quantity or volume. Bar codes, QR codes, etc. can be associated with wall cavities and/or precursor vessels and scanned to input information. Embodiments monitor precursor dispense ratios and/or precursor vessel contents, and prevent further dispensing upon detection of an error condition to avoid off-ratio dispensing and system contamination by air due to an empty precursor vessel.

Abstract: Compositions and methods for treating a cellulosic substrate to impart water resistance are disclosed herein. The compositions are waxy solids that include a mixture of a fluorowax and a hydrocarbon wax. The compositions are applied to cut edges of a cellulosic substrate, such as a wood-based flooring material, to impart water resistance to the cellulosic substrate. Abstract: A method of manufacturing cross-corrugated support structures is provided. A mold having a molding surface with a first plurality and a second plurality of corrugations therein is used to introduce corrugations into a flexible, carbonaceous sheet. Cross-corrugations are introduced into the sheet by placing the sheet onto the molding surface, encapsulating the sheet to form a vacuum chamber, and evacuating the vacuum chamber of air. As air is evacuated from the vacuum chamber, the sheet is drawn upon the molding surface causing the sheet to conform to the shape of the molding surface. Thermosetting resin is infused into the sheet and cured causing the sheet to rigidly retain the shape of the molding surface. The sheet is further reinforced by securing at least one support member to the sheet using thermosetting resin.
Abstract: New photoresist compositions are provided that comprise a component that comprises an amide group and multiple hydroxyl groups. Preferred photoresists of the invention may comprise a resin with photoacid-labile groups; a photoacid generator compound; and an amide component with multiple hydroxyl groups that can function to decrease undesired photogenerated-acid diffusion out of unexposed regions of a photoresist coating layer.
