  • Patent number: 5160996
Abstract: A semiconductor device comprises a semiconductor substrate of a first conductivity type, a well which is a second conductivity type, a buried layer, which is of the first conductivity type, and an insulating isolation layer formed extending to an upper surface of a side region of the well. The buried layer has a first portion of a higher dopant concentration than the semiconductor substrate and formed in a deep region of the semiconductor substrate directly below the well, and a second portion formed in a region of the substrate which is positioned higher than the region in which the first portion is formed. The first and second portions of the buried layer are formed integrally in a region of the semiconductor substrate which is directly below the insulating isolation layer, surround the well within the semiconductor substrate, and have a high concentration of a dopant that is of the first conductivity type at a position which is directly below the insulating isolation layer.

  • Patent number: 5060141
Abstract: A multiprocessor system is formed of a total of R.sup.n digital processors connected for mutual communication by unidirectional data lines. Each processor is connected for sending data to R other processors, and designating the address of an arbitrary processor as (P.sub.1 P.sub.2, . . . P.sub.i, . . . P.sub.n), the addresses of respective ones of these R processors are determined by executing a one digit right shift (or left shift) of that arbitrary processor address and changing a specific digit P.sub.i of that address to each of a set of values extending from 0 to (R-1).

  • Patent number: 4861148
Abstract: A projection optical system for use in a precise copy which uses a pair of catadioptric optical systems consisting of convex mirrors, concave mirrors, and phase correction members is shown. Two catadioptric optical systems commonly use an entrance pupil on a coaxis and are coupled so as to respectively face the phase correction members. Each of the concave mirrors has an opening at the center. Each of the convex mirrors has no opening in one embodiment but has an opening portion at the center in another embodiment.

  • Patent number: 4861941
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a shielding device of a double-sided printed substrate used in a circuit for processing a high frequency signal such as a television tuner circuit and the like, which is arranged such that a first grounding conductor film (12a) is formed on one side of the substrate (11), a second grounding conductor film (12b) is formed on the other side of the substrate (11), both the conductor films (12a, 12b) are connected by a through-hole conductor (15b), an opening portion of a through hole (15a) at at least one side is covered and closed by a solder resist (16), and the shielding plate (13) is mounted on the conductor film (12a) on the one side and both members are soldered. In particular, when a ceramic substrate is used as the substrate (11), it is arranged so as to obtain reliable soldering and satisfactory shielding effects while ensuring the strength thereof.

  • Patent number: 4678725
Abstract: A hermetically sealed storage battery has a group of plates sheathed with a housing which is constituted by a synthetic resin film or sheet that is resistant to the electrolyte and is heat-weldable. Portions of the housing which surround the periphery of the group of plates are formed into a sealing portion by heat-welding together films or sheets of the type described above. A pair of terminal pieces protrude from the group of plates through the sealing portion. Part of the sealing portion is provided with safety valve which is constituted by an adhesion portion formed by portions of the films or sheets which are overlaid one upon the other. Thus it is possible to provide a hermetically sealed storage battery which has a simplified housing structure and which is capable of smoothly discharging any gas to the outside when there is an increase in the cell's internal pressure.

  • Patent number: 4311729
Abstract: Method for manufacturing a ceramic electronic component such as a voltage-dependent non-linear resistor element and a semiconductive ceramic capacitor is disclosed, in which a precisely uniform metal coating is formed on a surface of a ceramic and the metal coating is then heat treated to convert the metal of the metal coating to a metal compound to form a metal compound coating on the surface of the ceramic and/or diffuse a portion of or all of the metal coating into the ceramic, for attaining completely different electric properties than those of untreated ceramic. The present method is particularly useful in the application to a semiconductive ceramic capacitor.

  • Patent number: 4121936
Abstract: A film of poly(methacrylamide) is heated to partially form imide bonds with elimination of ammonia, and such imide bonding causes crosslinking in the polymer to form a crosslinked polymer film. This film can be advantageously adapted as a positive resist capable of forming a positive image by exposure to radiation such as electron beams. The minimum incident charge required for such exposure is of the order of 10.sup.-7 coulomb/cm.sup.2, which is far lower than the level required in the use of conventional resists. The resist provided according to this invention is also capable of forming an excellent heat-resistant positive resist image by short-time exposure to radiation.
