Abstract: A communication apparatus is connected to a terminal apparatus via a network. The communication apparatus includes a receiver that receives e-mail data via the network, a memory that stores the received e-mail data, and a generator that generates management data corresponding to the stored e-mail data, as a structured document. A server transmits the management data to the terminal apparatus when a request for the management data is received from the terminal apparatus. The management data is displayable at the terminal apparatus, and the terminal apparatus designates the management data to delete e-mail data in the memory, corresponding the designated management data. A deleting section, when the designated management data and a request for deletion are received from the terminal apparatus via the network, deletes e-mail data stored in the memory, corresponding to the designated management data.

  • Publication number: 20030021399
Abstract: If any of the communication terminals has incoming calls, calling signals are repeatedly output to the communication terminal at predetermined intervals until the communication terminal answers. When one communication terminal is called before another communication terminal answers its preceding call, calling signals to each communication terminal are repeatedly output alternately. Thus, a simple structure that is capable of changing output destinations for very calling signal output is provided. Upon receiving multiple incoming calls at about the same time, the apparatus can repeatedly output calling signals to corresponding communication terminals, without having multiple calling signal output apparatuses.

  • Publication number: 20030023748
Abstract: An Internet communication control apparatus and its transmission control method is provided, to which communication terminals such as facsimile apparatuses and/or telephones are connected, that is connected to the Internet to perform transmission/reception with other communication terminals. When an off-hook state of a connected communication terminal is detected upon transmitting, a setting for dial tone signal reception is prepared, and the received signals are converted to a destination number. By checking the corresponding table, the destination number is converted into a destination address, and according to the content of the table, whether the communication is for facsimile transmission or telephone call is determined. According to the result of the determination, a facsimile process or telephone process is selectively performed so that the transmission operation does not seem abnormal and complicated.

  • Patent number: 6512593
Abstract: The Internet facsimile apparatus in the present invention is provided with data memories such as telephone book data memory, relay FAX data memory and adjacent district number memory. Its collation section collates the telephone number of the recipient with the data of the telephone book memory, then the relay destination search section searches for data in the relay FAX data memory and obtains the address of a relay apparatus candidate. If there is no appropriate relay apparatus in the same district, the adjacent district number search section searches for the number of an adjacent district and continues the search based on the district number. In this way, when carrying out image transmission using the Internet facsimile apparatus as a relay apparatus, the nearest Internet facsimile apparatus suitable for use as a relay apparatus is automatically selected.

Abstract: A number-of-commands counter counts number of commands received during a predetermined measurement period, which is timed by a timer. An access interval determiner determines command reception frequency from the count result, and decides on an optimum access interval time. An MIB update unit updates <access interval MIB> based on the optimum access interval time. An SNMP agent responds to an obtaining command and transmits <access interval MIB>. An MIB receiver receives <access interval MIB> and an MIB obtainer analyzes <access interval MIB> to recognize the access interval time. A timer setter sets the recognized access interval time at a timer as a timer setting.

  • Publication number: 20020186709
Abstract: A data communication apparatus includes a communication section that performs pre-communication protocol to exchange a communication function with a communication destination terminal, and transmits data to the communication destination terminal after the pre-communication protocol. A detector detects whether or not the communication destination terminal can perform a short protocol in which at least a communication protocol for line probing is omitted. When the detector detects that the communication destination terminal can perform the short protocol, a controller obtains communication parameters from the communication destination terminal, stores the obtained communication parameters in a memory in association with the communication destination terminal. The stored communication parameters are utilized to perform the short protocol.

  • Patent number: 6493105
Abstract: The Internet facsimile apparatus is provided with a format converting section which converts image data to e-mail, and a mail transmission section which transmits the e-mail via a network. The format converting section converts the received facsimile data to an e-mail page by page. A destination address management section issues a management number for each piece of facsimile data, and at the same time issues a page number for each of page. The management number and page number are registered in a management table. The format converting section provides the management number and page number to the subject of an e-mail. Thereby, since the data capacity of the e-mail is reduced when transmitting and receiving the facsimile data via a network, it is possible to prevent receiving errors from occurring and to improve the transmission quality. Simultaneously, the e-mail is managed or supervised by the management number and page number.

Abstract: It is decided whether or not the reception is performed with respect to signals of 1650 Hz, 1750 Hz and 185O Hz passed through band pass filter (BPF) 4031 up to 4033 and processed for the energy calculation in energy calculating circuit 4041 up to 4043 respectively. Low speed signals that are processed for the energy calculation in energy calculation circuit 4041 up to 4043 respectively are added in adding section 405. At this time, a timer in decision circuit 406 starts. When a predetermined time passes in the timer in decision circuit 406 with a predetermined energy level of signals of 1650 Hz, 1750 Hz and 1850 Hz kept, the signals are identified as EOP signal that comes after PIX signal. Thereby the apparatus is controlled to shift to the low speed signal reception mode.
