  • Patent number: 4607549
Abstract: A face turning head for machining stations, comprises a drive mechanism for displacing the tool slide transversely. A drive shaft drives a worm gear or its equivalent through a transmission element, such as a cog belt transmission to axially displace a setting rod. This axial movement of the setting rod, which is independent of the rotation of the turning head but can be effected simultaneously therewith, actuates a gib key drive by which a tool slide is displaced transversely to the turning head axis. Through reversing rollers and displaceable blocks, the centrifugal disequilibrium caused by the tool slide movement is compensated for.

  • Patent number: 4578873
Abstract: In a sensor head of a measuring machine, for at least one coordinate, a straight line guiding mechanism is provided between two base parts. Springs acting in this coordinate bring the two base parts into abutment. To achieve a slackfree, stable position of rest, a stop element with a stop face for each base part is displaceable in both directions of the coordinate, counter to the action of a spring. Both stop faces point in the same direction of the coordinate. For movement, stroke lengths are free on both sides.

  • Patent number: 4563823
Abstract: In a multi-coordinate measuring machine, a contact pin is movable relative to an upper part of a measuring head, in the X, Y and Z directions. The contact pin must be mounted so as to be displaceable from its zero position, and blockable in position in each of these directions. To simplify the construction, the mechanism for displacing and blocking the movements of the pin are combined in the form of an electrodynamic transducer for each of the three directions. The transducer is formed of a pair of aligned coils which are each associated with a permanent magnet.

  • Patent number: 4558646
Abstract: A projectile particularly for use in rapid fire weapons and high performance guns comprises a hollow projectile body having an exterior surface with an annular groove therearound and with a plurality of openings formed in the groove at spaced circumferential locations. A rotating band is positioned in the groove and secured against displacement caused by centrifugal and accelerating forces, portions of the band which extend through the openings. The band is advantageously injection molded directly in the groove so that portions thereof form into the openings and extend through the openings and form a closed ring on the interior of the shell of the projectile body.

  • Patent number: 4549488
Abstract: A projectile comprises a tubular body and a sabot or impact base connected to the rear portion. The tubular body is connected to the sabot by radially extending pins, and the rear face of the body is spaced from a circular shoulder of the sabot by a distance equal to, or larger than, the diameter of the pins. To ensure a transfer of the spin of the sabot to the body, the rear face of the body is provided with a corrugation, such as teeth, or a knurling, which, at the discharge and after the pins are sheared off, digs into the surface of the circular shoulder.

  • Patent number: 4499684
Abstract: A firearm, particularly a sporting gun, having a rotatable bolt with a locking head and being equipped with a trigger mechanism accommodated in a trigger housing is disclosed. An angled reset member is engaged by the rotatable bolt through a pressure pin, in order to transform the rotary motion into a linear motion. For this purpose, the pressure pin is connected to the reset member, cooperates with a locking projection of the bolt. Upon turning the bolt, the reset member is caused to butt against a contact surface of the pivotally mounted first trigger which is connected to a pivotally mounted hair trigger. The hair trigger is thus pivotable to a safety position.
