  • Patent number: 10212192
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for facilitating communications with an operating system suspended OTT application on a user device. The methods include sending, from a P-CSCF or a WebRTC Gateway, to a push notification framework, a notification configured to cause the push notification framework to send a push notification to the suspended OTT application (IMS OTT application or WebRTC OTT application). The push notification may wake up the OTT application and cause a notification initiated REGISTRATION request to be sent by the OTT application. This can be initiated just before the IMS core network de-registers the OTT application based on a timer, or based on receipt of a SIP request (e.g. phone call received) when the OTT application is suspended. In addition, the push notification provides a lightweight authentication at the P-CSCF instead of a full blown authentication at the usual place S-CSCF.

  • Patent number: 10171548
Abstract: A gateway system employing a redirect mechanism at upper layer protocols over Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) in a packet network to circumvent problems related to alteration of TCP sequence number due to header enrichment. The gateway system increases the size of a redirect message by the size of the header enrichment and thereby brings TCP sequence number on both ends in sync despite adding the header enrichment information.

  • Patent number: 10064146
Abstract: A system, method, and network node for synchronizing supplementary services settings between a database in a circuit-switched network and a database in a packet-switched network are disclosed. An exemplary communication system synchronization node is configured to receive a message containing a change to a supplementary service setting associated with a user equipment (UE) connected to a circuit-switched (CS) network or a packet-switched (PS) network, and communicate the change to the supplementary service setting to one or both of the HLR and the HSS, so that the supplementary service settings in both the HLR and the HSS are updated to reflect the change to the supplementary service setting.

  • Patent number: 10028175
Abstract: Communication systems and methods suitable for use in a Multiple Line Multiple Device service environment, involving a native line and a second shared line, are disclosed. Logic at one or more nodes and application servers is configured to ensure that network handover data, or other information, is only updated for the native line registration but not the shared line. Then when a call is placed or received on the shared line, the call is anchored to the native line based on that network handover data. If, during that call, a request is received to handover the call from a first network having a first communication protocol to a second network having a second communication protocol, the handover occurs based on the anchored native line. In one example embodiment the first network is a Packet Switched network and the second network is a Circuit Switched network.

  • Patent number: 10021560
Abstract: A mechanism to allow provisioning and use of BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) for authorized access in the enterprise network through a 3G/4G/Wi-Fi access network is provided. A brokering entity in the mobile packet core is provisioned for each authorized employee with enterprise specific rules for security and steering of user traffic. An Enterprise Container is defined as entity on the User Equipment that is self-contained virtual machine with enterprise sanctioned applications. An intelligent mechanism for and steering of signaling and traffic from such BYOD devices to the brokering entity is defined. At any time by using the personal container or the default behavior of the user equipment the user can get mobile service as if the Enterprise Container did not exist. Further, when such employment relationship is terminated the user's BYOD needs to be restored to its pre-employment functionality.
