  • Patent number: 10188475
Abstract: A drape (600) suitable for covering non-planar surfaces of equipment (1201) is provided. The drape (600) facilitates quick and efficient deployment while ensuring that a sterile field established by a drape portion (601) is not compromised. The drape (600) can include a drape wrapping layer (209) wrapped about a drape portion (601) that is formed initially with two abutting elongated accordion fold stacks (604,605). Non-sterile personnel (801) can handle the drape wrapping layer (209) to position the drape (600) along surfaces of the equipment (1201) without touching the sterile drape portion (601). Sterile personnel can then expand the abutting elongated accordion fold stacks (604,605) to drape the surfaces of the equipment (1201).

  • Patent number: 10179074
Abstract: A method (400) of manufacturing a wound dressing includes obtaining alginate fibers (108) and the step (404) of spraying either the alginate fibers (108) or a dressing or dressing layer (610) of the alginate fibers with an aqueous solution (801) comprising a polysaccharide, which can be carboxymethylcellulose. The step of spraying can occur while the alginate fibers, dressing, or dressing layer are wet. A step (405) of flash drying can follow to remove the solute of the aqueous solution to leave the polysaccharide along the alginate. The step of spraying can be selective, such that only portions of the dressing layer include the polysaccharide.

  • Patent number: 10172681
Abstract: A protective cover (800) for a medical device includes a body (700) and a cap (100) that is selectively attachable to the body. The cap 100 includes an annulus 101 and a rounded vault (102) spanning an interior portion (118) of the annulus. The rounded vault defines a convex exterior (301). A plurality of partial arch trusses (103,104,105,106,107,108,109) extends from the annulus along the convex exterior toward an apex (601) of the convex exterior. Distal ends (613,614,615,616,617,618,619) of the plurality of partial arch trusses define an interstice (611) at the apex. The partial arch trusses provide longitudinal deflection of impact forces to protect the medical device.
