Abstract: A system and a related method are disclosed for authenticating a user of an electronic system. The system, and related method access (a) data relating to a defined interaction with an input device for a purported authorized user, (b) a probability distribution representation for the defined interaction for an authorized user, and (c) a probability distribution representation for the defined interaction for a wide population, from which it can determine value indicative of whether the purported authorized user is the authorized user. The purported authorized user can be authenticated as the authorized user, if the value satisfies a prescribed threshold.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method of making a corded earplug, including a flexible cord material and a pair of earplugs. Each earplug has a nose portion for insertion into the ear and a rear portion extending from the nose portion and lying outside of the ear when the nose portion is inserted into the ear. Each rear portion has a pair of openings physically displaced from each other and/or angularly displaced from each other. At least one of the openings extends through the rear portion. A short portion of the flexible cord material is inserted through the at least one opening extending through the rear portion. The short portion of the flexible cord material is then inserted into the other opening to have the short portion of the flexible cord material physically displaced and/or angularly displaced along its length to lock the flexible cord material to the rear portion of the earplug.
Abstract: This disclosure provides a golf-stroke recording system, method, and apparatus. For example, the system includes a location sensing component, a processor, and a golf-stroke recording application executable by the processor, which is configured to track the movement of a player's golf ball as the golf ball traverses along the golf course, and then present the tracked movement of the golf ball on images associated with aerial views of the particular golf course on which the player is playing.
Abstract: Apparatus for securing products are provided. Each of a pair of elongate retaining members is pivotally secured at a first end of a base. Each of a pair of carriages is movable along a corresponding one of the retaining members and fixable to the corresponding one of the retaining members at a plurality of locations. Each carriage has a clip for capturing a projecting portion of the product. A stop member engages a portion of the product spaced apart from the projecting portions captured by the clips. The stop member is movable toward the clips in a single degree of freedom and is fixable to the base at a plurality of locations along the degree of freedom. Methods of securing a product using the apparatus are provided.
Abstract: A hearing protective earplug for insertion into the human ear canal of a user where the human ear canal has sidewalls and a typical curved portion. A soft resilient body has a main body element with a front end for insertion in the human ear canal. An elongated stem has two ends with one end attached to the main body element. The stem extends outward from the main body element and away from the front end. The other end of the stem forms a handle portion of the stem. The stem is sufficiently stiff as to allow manipulation of the main body element into the ear canal of the user. The stem member has a crooked or wavy configuration within the ear canal as it extends outward from the main body to the handle portion of the stem. As the front end of the main body element is inserted into the ear canal, the stem member is rotated during insertion with the handle portion to fit around the typical curved portion in the human ear canal.
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for performing voice personalization of video content. The personalized media content may include a composition of a background scene having a character, head model data representing an individualized three-dimensional (3D) head model of a user, audio data simulating the user's voice, and a viseme track containing instructions for causing the individualized 3D head model to lip sync the words contained in the audio data. The audio data simulating the user's voice can be generated using a voice transformation process. In certain examples, the audio data is based on a text input or selected by the user (e.g., via a telephone or computer) or a textual dialogue of a background character.

Abstract: A two piece dual mode earplug including an integrally molded elongated member having a nose end and an open rear end and a channel extending through. An integrally molded insert member is formed with a base portion and a rod portion and with the rod portion seated within the open rear end of the elongated member and includes an attenuation filter integrally molded as part of the rod portion and includes first and second openings located on each side of a chamber and with the size and length of the openings together with the chamber providing attenuation of impulse noise. The insert member also includes the base portion integrally molded to have a third opening larger than the first and second openings in the rod portion and with the first, second and third openings together forming a passageway through the insert member to the channel extending through the elongated member.
Abstract: This invention discloses a system wherein behaviormetrics are utilized to authenticate electronic transactions, either alone or in combination with other identifiers such as PIN's, passwords, codes and the like. Probability profiles or probability distribution representations may be constructed for determining whether a purported or alleged authorized user is in fact the authorized user, by comparing new data on a real-time basis against probability distribution representations including an authorized user probability distribution representation and a global or wide population probability distribution representation, to provide a probability as to whether the purported authorized user is the authorized user.

Abstract: The invention describes an ear protector (1) comprising a resilient band (2), the free ends of which each have arranged thereon an earplug (4). The band (2) includes a first area (2a) whose center line (2a?) merges under an angle ? with an additional area (2b). When in use, the band is pivotable in the user's ears about an axis of rotation (3?) extending through the earplugs (4). In order to implement such an ear protector in a structurally simple manner such that noise disturbance caused when the band (2) rubs on a piece of clothing can be reduced or eliminated, it is suggested to implement a chin area (2a) and a cheek area (2b) between which the angle ? is provided, said angle ? ranging from 35° to 90°, preferably from 45° to 70° and even more preferably from 50° to 60°.
Abstract: A respirator mask and a method of making the respirator mask that includes a lens member and a plurality of buckle members spaced around the lens member. A flange member is overmolded to the lens member and to the spaced buckle members at the same time by the following method. A mold member is provided to have individual mold supports to individually receive and support the lens member and to individually receive and support the buckle members at the spaced positions around the lens member. The mold member forms a flange cavity around the lens member and extending to the buckle members. The lens member is positioned within its individual mold support and the buckle members are positioned within their individual mold supports at the spaced positions around the lens member. The molding material is then injected into the flange cavity to form a flange that overmolds to the lens member while at the same time overmolds to the buckle members to form the respirator mask.
Abstract: A system to collect personal and demographic data from user's of cellular mobile communications system devices. This system uses a standard web browser to collect the personal and demographic data instead of the device itself because of the limited interactive experience available to cellular mobile communications system device users. After obtaining data from the user including the user's cellular mobile communications system device's cellular phone number, a message is sent to the device. When a link is the message is activated a small event collection data software module is downloaded to the cellular mobile communications system device. The return message to the data collection entity incorporates the cellular mobile communications system device's International Mobile Equipment Identifier (IMEI) number. This number then ties the event data collected by the module to the personal and demographic information collected from the cellular mobile communications system device user.
