  • Patent number: 7849154
Abstract: A system to collect personal and demographic data from user's of cellular mobile communications system devices. This system uses a standard web browser to collect the personal and demographic data instead of the device itself because of the limited interactive experience available to cellular mobile communications system device users. After obtaining data from the user including the user's cellular mobile communications system device's cellular phone number, a message is sent to the device. When a link is the message is activated a small event collection data software module is downloaded to the cellular mobile communications system device. The return message to the data collection entity incorporates the cellular mobile communications system device's International Mobile Equipment Identifier (IMEI) number. This number then ties the event data collected by the module to the personal and demographic information collected from the cellular mobile communications system device user.

  • Patent number: 7831464
Abstract: Techniques for dynamically representing distributed information are disclosed. According to one embodiment, metrics for deployed resources in a predefined environment (e.g., an enterprise) is designed. The metrics includes at least various logic and data sources and is deployed as one or more Metrics Definition Packages (MDP), wherein data sources are used for calculating such metrics. The metrics is defined in terms of the data sources and their associated meta-data, but has no dependency upon specific external systems that are eventually used to populate the data sources when the Metrics Definition Package is executed. The metrics results from the execution of the Metrics Definition Package in accordance with the deployed resources (e.g., storage space, and security means) are represented in what is referred to as a Scorecard Definition Package (SDP) that is designed to represent the metrics results in a dynamic and comprehensible manner.

  • Patent number: 7818290
Abstract: This invention includes a system for the association of a user of an electronic system with a demographic, wherein a data characteristic of the user is accessed and compared to a wide population probability distribution reference indicative of a demographic associated with the data characteristic, and making a determination of a probability that the user is up to the demographic based on the comparing. Systems may include a method for selecting a more probable data characteristic upon which to associate a user with a demographic, and a data processing apparatus configured with one or more wide population probability distribution references for use on any one of a number of electronic systems.

  • Publication number: 20100121857
Abstract: A set of data pertaining to artists and other content creators is retrieved periodically from various Internet-connected sources, the data being characterized as both quantitative and qualitative data. The data is analyzed through various means, including sentiment analysis, to produce quantitative information, including a score or set of scores, that is descriptive of an artist's popularity as well as the ranking of an artist among other artists within a category or set of categories.

  • Patent number: 7708694
Abstract: A cuff for measuring volume and change in volume of a body appendage includes a hollow, rigid tube having an inner surface; and a bladder having an inner surface and an outer surface, the ends of the bladder being sealed to the ends of the tube to create an enclosed internal volume between the inner surface of the bladder and the inner surface of the tube and an external volume defined by the outer surface of the bladder and surrounded by the internal volume, the bladder having a normal, relaxed state, in which the internal volume is filled with a fluid and a retracted state in which the fluid is evacuated from the internal volume. Two stiffener ribs placed on the inner surface of the bladder, parallel to each other and to the lengthwise axis of the tube at diametrically opposite positions. A plurality of emitters and detectors arranged in a linear array are embedded in one of the ribs, so as to emit and detect light through the bladder.

  • Patent number: 7702317
Abstract: A system and method to collect all the offerings of a wireless service provider. Wireless service providers have different types of offerings, said offerings depending on the type of wireless client device being used. A single type of device, linked to an emulation computer, can ‘spoof’ the identification of all the devices that the wireless service provider supports. The emulation computer traverses the links made available by the wireless service provider for the type device the emulation computer is ‘spoofing’.

  • Publication number: 20090285466
Abstract: A method computer program for displaying relative movement between vertebrae or other medical objects is provided. The method generally includes acquiring at least two images of adjacent vertebrae, wherein the at least two images are acquired from a substantially similar acquisition position and illustrate the vertebrae in two different positions. The method further includes displaying a first image to a user on a screen, displaying a second image to the user overlaid onto the first image, translating, via user input, the first or second image to align a stationary feature present in both the first and second images, and alternately displaying the translated first and second images to display relative movement between the stationary feature and adjacent features.

  • Publication number: 20080226480
Abstract: A vacuum pump includes first, second, third and fourth pump stages. Each pump stage has a trochoidal-shaped cavity and a rotor that rotates within the respective cavity. Each cavity has a volume determined by the depth of the cavity and a generally corresponding thickness of the rotor. The fourth stage has a largest volume and receives gas at an input pressure. The fourth stage outputs the gas to the third stage at a second pressure higher than the input pressure. The cavity of each successive stage (third, second and first) has a smaller volume and outputs the gas at a higher pressure than the previous stage. The last (first) stage outputs the gas to the atmosphere. The rotors in the stages rotate about a common pump shaft. Each rotor has a multiple vertices that follow the inner perimeter surface of the respective cavity without contact and without requiring additional seals.
