Abstract: Provided are methods and systems for detecting a maturing arterio-venous fistula comprising a vein. An exemplary method comprises determining a wall thickness of the fistula and a lumen diameter of the fistula vein using a high frequency ultrasound imaging system. A blood pressure of the subject is determined. A circumferential vessel wall stress is determined from the measured blood pressure, the wall thickness of the fistula and a determined radius of the measured diameter of the fistula. The determined circumferential vessel stress is compared to a predetermined threshold stress to determine if the fistula is mature.
Abstract: Disclosed is a bag holder for supporting a flexible bag having a first handle and a second handle, each handle having a first root connected to the bag, a second root connected to the bag and an arc portion linking the first root to the second root. The bag holder may comprise a frame having a substantially horizontal member. A stand fastener may elevate a top portion of the frame when attached to a stand. A first slot may attach to a second slot formed from the substantially horizontal member of the frame, wherein the first slot is configured to support the first handle at the first root and second root. A first arc portion fastener can attach to the frame. A third slot may indirectly attach to the frame and couple to the second slot, wherein the third slot is approximately tangential to and horizontally displaced from the second slot as compared to a line connecting the first slot to the second slot. In addition, a second arc portion fastener may be coupled to the frame.

Abstract: An egg-based material that includes an egg-based substance, a water-absorbent thickener distributed throughout the egg-based material, and pieces of supplemental food distributed throughout the egg-based material, where the egg-based substance includes a natural liquid egg component and the water-absorbent thickener is effective to maintain distribution of the pieces of supplemental food throughout the egg-based material.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the formulation and process for preparation of a fried egg product which may be frozen for future heating within a microwave or other oven for consumption by an individual. Various ingredients are added and mixed to each of the liquid egg white and liquid yolk portions. The liquid egg white portion is preheated and then deposited within a mold for slow cooking under controlled temperature and humidity conditions. The liquid yolk portion is preheated and then is added to the mold for placement on the egg white portion. Following a short period of cooking the mold containing the formulated fried eggs is transported to a freezer unit for freezing, packaging, and storage. At a future time the frozen formulated fried egg product may be retrieved for thawing and cooking for consumption by an individual.

Abstract: The invention relates to such a method and apparatus, as well as to the resulting deformed object out of a relatively hard material such as e.g. a metal or plastic wire in which an undeformed section (2) is clamped near its ends (3, 4) and is subsequently upset in a controlled way by an axial pressure force (22) to a predefined shortened and thickened longitudinal section (5), with which simultaneously over substantially the entire contour sheath (19) of this section (2) a counterforce (29) is exerted so that, with the progressive deformation during upsetting, the total volume of the longitudinal section that is deforming, remains substantially constant. In this thickened section (5) a flattened zone (8) can subsequently be applied in order to realise a final shape (10) such as an opening (26). The invention concerns in particular also the use of a deformation line (40) for manufacturing a heddle for weaving looms.
Abstract: A quality evaluation device for quality evaluation of an audio signal transmitted via an audio signal channel includes a unit for providing contacting information to a remote user, wherein the contacting information includes a contact address. A measurement server includes an interface designed to be a final point of the audio signal channel after an access with the contact address by the remote user, wherein a starting point of the audio signal channel is the remote user, and wherein the measurement server is further designed to subject the signal provided by the remote user via the audio signal channel to the quality measurement. The quality evaluation device further includes a unit for sending a quality evaluation result generated by the measurement server from the measurement server to the remote user. This allows any user able to access the measurement server, for example per internet, to evaluate and compare qualities with any terminals, any transmission channel settings, various telephone providers.

Abstract: The user puts on a wearable electronic device at a gym and the wearable electronic device updates itself wirelessly through a server with a fitness session for the user that is stored within a plurality of user workout routines in a database as part of the server. The fitness session is a sequence of exercises the user should perform at the gym where the wearable electronic device provides an indication to the user of the various exercises. The user determines which exercises to complete and thereafter at the end of the fitness session the user's progress is stored back to the database. On a subsequent visit to the gym a second fitness session is derived based upon the first fitness session where preferably this second fitness session is derived with the assistance of a trained professional. Optionally if an article of fitness equipment is busy, the user is advised of another article of fitness equipment to utilize.

Abstract: An arrangement for rolling the frontal end of a deformable sleeve-shaped container jacket comprises a supporting surface which radially supports the container jacket in the area of its end. A ring-shaped cavity is arranged radially adjacent thereto, which cavity is closed at the bottom and open at the top. The cavity has an essentially semicircular cross-section. The cavity is provided in circumferential direction with a plurality of pocket-shaped recesses in the transitional area between the supporting surface and the bottom, between which recesses rolling ridges, as part of the original cavity surface, remain. The purpose of this design is to effect a reduction in the deformation forces when the frontal end of the container jacket is being rolled.

Abstract: A moulder has a first feeding unit and a transport path on which a workpiece is transported by the first feeding unit in an advancing direction At least one stop is arranged at the transport path. Horizontal spindles and vertical spindles each provided with a tool are provided for machining the workpiece. A second feeding unit is provided for moving the workpiece in the advancing direction. For machining the workpiece when the workpiece is moved by the second feeding unit, a first one of the vertical spindles is utilized.
Abstract: A process and an arrangement for covering a flat-lying blank, preferably made of cardboard with a cover, in particular applicable in the production of book covers is described. The covering takes place in cycles in a number of working stations, whereby an overall cycle time can be given to each working station in advance. Each working station comprises at least one working means, to which at least one sub-cycle time is assigned. It is provided that in the case of a constant remaining overall cycle time, at least one sub-cycle time assigned to the working means of a procedural step is adapted to the processed materials. The present invention is in particular applicable when at least one edge of a cover applied to a blank is folded over. The folding over of the edge takes place thereby in a folding station within the pre-set overall cycle time.
