Abstract: The aim of the invention is to provide a fluid-cooled electric machine in a simple manner. To achieve this, a housing (1) is configured in two parts, in such a way that each housing part (2, 3) comprises a bearing bracket (4, 5) and said housing parts are designed (2, 3) to form cooling channels once assembled.
Abstract: A surgical instrument handle is removably attachable to a surgical instrument head for operation of a microsurgical instrument on the head by manipulation of the instrument handle. The instrument handle has an elongate center rod with a piston mounted on the rod for reciprocating movement. The piston engages with a piston in the attached surgical instrument head for operation of the microsurgical instrument of the head. A tapered ring is mounted on the rod and engages with the piston for reciprocating the piston. A plurality of resilient arms extend along the length of the rod and engage against a sliding surface of the ring. The plurality of resilient arms are alternatively squeezed radially inwardly by the surgeon's hand and released by the surgeon's hand to allow the resilient arms to flex radially outwardly. The inward and outward movement of the plurality of anns reciprocates the piston on the handle rod to cause operation of the surgical instrument head.
Abstract: A release device for actuating a clamping device for tools has at least one release element and a drive drivingly connected to the at least one release element for moving the at least one release element from a rest position into a release position in which a draw bar of the clamping device is moved against a clamping force into a disengaged position. The drive is an electric motor. The axis of the electric motor can be aligned with the axis of the release device but an angled arrangement of the electric motor and of the release device relative to one another is also possible.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, media, signals and programs for managing energy supplied by an energy supply are disclosed. One such apparatus includes an energy accumulation device, which includes an energy accumulator and a controller configured to place the energy accumulator in electrical communication with the energy supply and with a load. The apparatus further includes an energy transfer device in communication with the energy accumulation device and with the energy supply and configured to transfer accumulated energy from the energy accumulator to the energy supply.
Abstract: An otherwise conventionally manufactured sock that has, woven into the toe, the name of the color of the sock. This invention enables a person who has difficulty discriminating colors, whether through poor lighting conditions or poor visual acuity, to discern like colors, to match a sock to its mate, and to coordinate the pair of socks with his or her attire.
Abstract: The present process relates to a formulation for a food product and preparation of a pre-formed filling unit for the provision of a consumable food product containing eggs, which may be refrigerated and/or frozen for future heating within a microwave oven for consumption by an individual. The process involves the initial step of acquisition of liquid eggs which may be scrambled. The liquid eggs are cooked whereupon the cooked liquid eggs are combined with other ingredients. The temperature of the combined ingredients is regulated and/or controlled during processing. The combined and mixed food product may then be inserted into a mold to provide a desired shape. After cooking the consumable food product may be separated from the mold whereupon the consumable food article may be refrigerated and/or frozen for future reheating as a portion of a breakfast or other consumable food article.

Abstract: A firearm barrel includes an elongate metal insert member and a rigid sleeve surrounding the insert member along a majority of the length of the insert member. A casing is formed around at least a portion of the sleeve, preferably by injection molding. Breech and muzzle portions of the barrel may be fitted against the sleeve and are preferably tightly connected by the casing.
Abstract: A gun barrel cleaning device includes a quick-detachable coupling mechanism releasably coupling a handle to a cleaning implement for cleaning a gun barrel bore. A thrust bearing is preferably provided for supporting the cleaning implement on the handle and for facilitating axial rotation of the cleaning implement relative to the handle. The gun barrel cleaning device may comprise part of a gun barrel cleaning kit, which may include a variety of different cleaning implements. A novel sheath for storing a gun barrel bore-cleaning implement is also disclosed.
Abstract: This invention relates to the combination of a clear or translucent alcoholic beverage, such as vodka, gin, rum, tequila, or whisky, with caffeine and flavorant additives, such as sweeteners, masking agents, natural and/or artificial flavoring agents, and/or other additives to eliminate or mitigate the bitter flavoring associated with caffeine. With the caffeinated vodka, gin, rum, tequila, or whisky of the invention, individuals will be able to achieve the stimulation of caffeine combined with the euphoria of a spirit in one beverage and be able to drink the beverage by itself or combined with a favorite mixer of choice.
Abstract: The invention relates to a low-sulfur diesel fuel containing a maximum amount of 0.2% by weight of sulfur and fatty acid monoalkyl esters in an amount of between 10 and 50,000 ppm as lubricity improvers, with the fatty acid moieties of the fatty acid monoalkyl esters originating from saturated fatty acids by at least 50%, in particular by at least 70%. It has been shown that said fatty acid esters show a substantially better lubricity improvement in a low-sulfur diesel fuel than a biodiesel made of rape oil and soy bean oil.

Abstract: A dental flossing device is characterized by a flossing circuit comprised of a flossing supply spool and a take-up spool mounted to a housing. The floss feeds from the supply spool along a pair of prongs forming a fork extension of the handle and is stretched across the prongs and appropriately tensioned to be inserted into a users mouth for flossing. To maintain tension, a pair of ratchet pawls are jointly engageable with a ratchet mounted for co-rotation with the take-up spool. The pawls are offset relative to the ratchet teeth to ensure appropriate tension. Tension on the supply spool side of the flosser is achieved with a tension arm in constant engagement with tension teeth co-rotatably mounted with the spool. When a floss advancing trigger is not depressed, a brake pawl formed at one end of the trigger is spring biased into locking engagement with these teeth while the tension arm assures proper tension on the supply side.

Abstract: A wireless communication apparatus and network including voice transmission means characterized in that there is included a location position determination means adapted to output data which uniquely characterises a geographic location of the apparatus, and means adapted upon an initiation of a close of a voice transmission from said apparatus to effect transmission of data arising from the position determination means whereby such data can effect an identification of the said location which can be interpreted by further receiving means. There is included a wireless network base station adapted to receive, during termination of a signal being received from a mobile station, data identifying the location of the mobile station.
Abstract: Described is a stackable, heat-insulating paperboard cup having an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve with a gap therebetween. A rolled lip is applied to the lower end of the outer sleeve, which rolled lip is disposed on the inner sleeve. A shoulder is formed on the inner sleeve for the rolled lip of another paperboard cup to be stacked. The diameter of the inner sleeve below the shoulder is reduced discontinuously. The support of the lower rolled lip on the outer surface of the inner sleeve is arranged at the same level as, or below, the cup bottom.

Abstract: A stackable planter comprising a plurality of planter trays has planter cups at a periphery for holding soil and plants. An inner rib of each planter tray defines a center portion of the planter tray. The center portion of one of the planter trays has a bottom wall that extends across the center portion and defines a recess for holding soil, whereby one or more plants may be planted in the center of the stackable planter. The planter trays are shaped to nest within one another when in a collapsed configuration. The stackable planter may be used indoors or outdoors and is portable in nature. Further configurations of the planter may provide a watering device with features configured to fit within the center portion of a planter trays.
