Patent number: 9968750Abstract: A ventilatory assist system and method are disclosed. The system comprises a tube for connection to a patient's airway, inspiratory and expiratory tube lumens connected to the tube, an inspiratory air source connected to the inspiration tube lumen, and a controller of air pressure in the expiratory tube lumen. The pressure controller is responsive to a physiological breathing signal representative of patient's inspiratory effort to allow air flow through the expiratory tube lumen during a patient's expiration phase, partially restricting the air flow through the expiratory tube lumen to a so minimum air flow during a patient's inspiration phase. During both respiratory phases, a unidirectional air flow is produced through the inspiratory and expiratory tube lumens to prevent air expired by the patient from being breathed again. The physiological breathing signal allows synchronization of the ventilatory assist with breathing efforts of the patient.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2011Date of Patent: May 15, 2018Assignee: ST. Patent number: 9922386Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for detecting security threats in a network environment. A canine detection unit may initially inspect items at a screening location. A local workstation is used to further inspect the items that are identified as raising potential security concerns. Requests for assistance are submitted to remote experts for assistance with resolving the potential security concerns. One or more servers receive the requests over a network and retrieve dialing plans associated with the origins of the requests. The one or more servers utilize the dialing plans to route the requests to expert groups assigned to dialing plans. In response to the requests being accepted by remote expert devices in one of the expert groups, the one or more servers establish connections between the local workstations and the remote expert devices that accept the requests.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2016Date of Patent: March 20, 2018Assignee: Michael Stapleton Associates, LTDInventors: Raymond Crowley, Michael Wynn, Joe Atherall, Matthew Ryan Dimmick

Patent number: 9914226Abstract: A bidirectional pivoting joint comprises pivoting elements which are rotatable relative to one another, specifically in a coaxial arrangement, a cylindrical outer body and a cylindrical inner body and a locking device optionally locking and releasing the rotational movement. The locking device has an annular space between the outer body and the inner body. Provided between annular space surfaces, specifically an inner surface of the outer body and an outer surface of the inner body are radially narrowing and, on the other hand, radially wider, peripheral regions in alternating arrangement. Arranged in the annular space are at least two clamping members which are each adjustable in cross-section in the peripheral direction (u) of the annular space. In a holding state, each clamping member has a first said cross-section and lies in the narrowing peripheral regions against the outer body and the inner body.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2012Date of Patent: March 13, 2018Assignee: Peter-Michael KlewsInventors: Peter-Michael Klews, Kerstin Ahrens, Marko Behr

Patent number: 9874864Abstract: In a molder, at least one rotatably driven tool (7, 8, 10, 11) is used to produce the structure (27) or contour on the workpiece (1) by workpiece removal. The workpiece positions along the workpiece (1) for producing the structure or contour are set depending on the data of the workpiece (1) and of the tool (7, 8, 10, 11). The data are transmitted to the machine controller which processes the CNC program based on the data during the passage of the workpiece (1) through the molder and moves the tool (7, 8, 10, 11) into the required positions via CNC drives depending on the workpiece position. The workpiece position is sensed during the passage of the workpiece (1) through the molder. In order to sense the workpiece position in the molder, at least one measuring element (18) is provided upstream and downstream of the tool (1), said measuring element (18) being connected to the machine controller and supplying signals that describe the advancing travel of the workpiece (1) to the machine controller.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2013Date of Patent: January 23, 2018Assignee: Michael Weinig AGInventors: Andreas Konrad, Jürgen Schmidt
