Abstract: A switchblade includes a casing having first and second ends and a cavity. A blade has a cutting edge with a retracted position in which the cutting edge is inside the cavity and a deployed position in which the cutting edge extends outside of the cavity from the first end. A spring is operably connected to the blade to bias the blade to the deployed position. A lock at the first end has a hold position that engages with the blade to prevent movement of the blade with respect to the casing and a release position that permits movement of the blade with respect to the casing. An actuator at the second end extends through at least a portion of the casing. A lever connects the actuator to the lock so that the actuator can reposition the lock between the hold position and the release position.

Abstract: A suppressor for a firearm includes a casing that defines a rear end opposed to a front end. A plurality of baffles are inside the casing. A rear cap is upstream from the plurality of baffles and releasably coupled to the rear end of the casing, and the rear cap includes an upstream surface. A rear cap surface feature is defined by the upstream surface of the rear cap. A front cap is downstream from the plurality of baffles and releasably coupled to the front end of the casing, and the front cap includes an upstream surface. A front cap surface feature is defined by the front cap, and the front cap surface feature has a complementary shape to the rear cap surface feature so the front cap surface feature can engage with the rear cap surface feature to remove the rear cap from the casing.

Abstract: A switchblade includes a casing that defines a cavity. A blade having a cutting edge has a retracted position in which the cutting edge is inside the cavity and a deployed position in which the cutting edge is outside of the cavity. An actuator is slidably engaged with the casing. A slider inside the cavity defines a tab on a first side of the slider and engaged with the actuator and front and rear sloped surfaces on a second side of the slider. A front operator and a rear operator are inside the cavity, and a spring connects the front operator to the rear operator. A front lock on the second side of the slider inside the cavity is engaged with the blade in the deployed position. A rear lock on the second side of the slider inside the cavity is engaged with the blade in the retracted position.

Abstract: A suppressor for a firearm includes a casing having rear and front ends. Baffles are inside the casing between the rear and front ends. A cylindrical support has an upstream end, a downstream end, and a circumferential rib. The upstream end is connected to the rear end of the casing. The downstream end is engaged with at least one of the baffles. The circumferential rib surrounds the cylindrical support between the upstream and downstream ends and extends radially from the cylindrical support to the casing. Upstream and downstream annular chambers defined at least in part by the casing, the cylindrical support, and the circumferential rib circumferentially surround the cylindrical support. A plurality of apertures through the cylindrical support provide fluid communication through the cylindrical support to the upstream and downstream annular chambers.
Abstract: A suppressor for a firearm includes a casing that defines an axis, and a baffle is in the casing. The baffle has upstream and downstream surfaces and a frustoconical surface between the upstream and downstream surfaces. The baffle defines a fluid pathway through the upstream, downstream, and frustoconical surfaces along the axis. An annular chamber is located between the frustoconical surface and the casing. A first contoured wall extends upstream a first height from the upstream surface, and the first contoured wall defines a perimeter around a first damping well in the upstream surface. A second contoured wall extends upstream a second height from the upstream surface, and the second contoured wall defines a perimeter around a second damping well in the upstream surface. The first height of the first contoured wall is larger than the second height of the second contoured wall.
Abstract: A switchblade includes a casing that defines a cavity and a blade having a cutting edge. An actuator extends through at least a portion of the casing and has a hold position that engages with the blade to prevent movement of the blade with respect to the casing and a release position that permits movement of the blade with respect to the casing. A safety is operably connected to the actuator and has a lock position that prevents operation of the actuator and an unlock position that permits operation of the actuator.
