Abstract: A camera includes a photographic recording device which records an image of an object on a photosensitive recording medium; an image pick-up device which picks up an image of the object to generate an image signal; a display device which displays a monitor image based on the image signal generated by the image pick-up device; a photographing information setting device which sets photographing information for an image to be recorded on the photosensitive recording medium; and a display controller which controls the display device to display a monitor image in accordance with the set photographing information.
Abstract: A cleaning device for removing residual toner on the image bearing member includes a cleaning blade contacting with the surface of the image bearing member and sealing members provided on both end portions of the image bearing member and confronting the cleaning edge of the cleaning blade with a gap. The gap meets the following condition when the average particle diameter per unit volume of the toner used is between 4 .mu.m and 15 .mu.m and the level of condensation is between 5% and 40%, if the width and length of the gap between the cleaning edge and the sealing member are W and L, respectively:0<(W/L)<0.4.
Abstract: In an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, the resistance of an transfer material is detected to which a toner image is transferred. The amount of adhered toners of a standard image is detected, and the development bias voltage is controlled according to the detected amount of adhered toners. Then, the transfer voltage is controlled by taking into account the resistance of the transfer material, the charges of adhered toners and the development bias voltage. Thus, the transfer efficiency is stabilized so that a stable image is formed with reproducible colors and densities. For a dot image, an area ratio of a standard dot toner image is detected, and at least one of an amount of charges for charging the photoconductor uniformly, an intensity of the light beam for exposing the photoconductor and the development bias voltage is controlled according to the detected area ratio.
Abstract: A camera is provided with silver halide film, a CCD for shooting, a display device, a magnetic tape and a flash device, and shooting by the silver halide film is performed while shooting by the CCD is being performed. Pictures taken by the CCD are displayed in the display device and recorded on the magnetic tape. When shooting is accompanied with a flash, exposure of the silver halide film is synchronized with a predetermined cycle of photoelectric conversion of the CCD, or the photoelectric conversion of the CCD is synchronized with the exposure of the silver halide film by varying the cycle. The picture taken by the CCD with a flash is displayed for a while just after shooting as a release-view, and can be displayed later as an after-view.
Abstract: A finishing apparatus comprising a transport section for transporting sheets discharged from a copying machine, a tray for stacking sheets thereon, and a finishing section for transporting a set of collected sheets from the tray and for stapling the sheet set. Folding rollers for folding a sheet in two or centrally folding the sheet are provided in a sheet transport section. Sheets, in a two-folded condition or with a center fold line formed thereon, are discharged onto the tray. Sheets which have been centrally formed with the fold line are subjected to stapling on or along the fold line.
Abstract: A finder has a finder field frame switching mechanism for switching and indicating two field frames relative to a reference field frame. The finder field frame switching mechanism performs switching of one field frame by a mechanical type switching mechanism, and switching of another field frame by liquid crystal. As a result, an inexpensive finder field frame switching mechanism of a simple structure can be provided.
Abstract: A nozzle for connecting between a jet stream spout and a pulverizing room of a jet mill. The nozzle has two nozzle parts. One nozzle part has the shape of a truncated cone with a first cone angle and is located at a jet stream spout side. The other nozzle part has the shape of a truncated cone with a second cone angle different from the first cone angle and is located at a pulverizing room side of the first nozzle part.
Abstract: The disclosed acousto-optic scanning device includes a thin film waveguide of piezoelectric material (2), a transducer (3) for generating surface elastic waves, and a high frequency signal generator (4) for generating high frequency signals to be applied to the transducer. Additionally, the device includes a light source (10), light source driver (11) for driving the light source, a prism or grating input and output light couplers (7, 8 or 27, 28) for introducing light emitted from the light source into the thin film waveguide and for outputting light transmitted through the thin film waveguide therefrom. Further, the device includes non-coupled light photodiode detector array (14) for detecting the position and intensity of light which is not coupled by the output light coupling means, and a signal processor for processing information detected by the non-coupled light detector array and generating control signals to correct the position and intensity of coupled light.
Abstract: A lens system for compensating for shaking movement of a camera includes an objective lens system that forms the image and a compensating lens system interposed in the optical axis of the objective lens system. The compensating lens elements are driven by electro-mechanical transducers, which provides a compact system permitting a relatively small lens construction. A driving shaft is frictionally coupled to a support for the compensating lens elements and is attached to an electro-mechanical transducer, for example, a piezoelectric element that expands and contracts responsive to a pulse wave. A movement detector monitors the objective lens system and calculates an amount of shaking compensation needed, which is provided to a pulse generator.
Abstract: An induction heat fusing device comprises a fusing roller and an induction coil induces an induction current in the fusing roller. The fusing roller has a nonmagnetic metallic hollow roller with good heat conduction properties and a magnetic metal layer formed on the outer peripheral surface of said roller that is heated by means of an induction current induced by the induction coil.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a sheet based on an original image. The image forming apparatus includes a detecting device for detecting a size of the original, a setting device for setting a finish size of the sheet, a folding device for folding the sheet, and a control device for controlling the folding device based on the original size detected by the detecting device and the finish size set by the setting device.
Abstract: A camera (100), suitable for using photographic film (18) with a magnetic track (33), includes a transporting mechanism (M, 22) for transporting the film along a film transport path, a magnetic head (11) positioned adjacent the film transport path so as to read information magnetically recorded on an adjacent portion of the magnetic track, signal processing circuits (12, 42) to provide a digital output signal responsive to thus read information, and a microcomputer (13) for comparing a digital output signal to predetermined threshold levels in order to determine whether or not information is recorded on the portion of the magnetic track being read by the magnetic head and for setting the threshold values. The threshold levels can be set in accordance with a level of the digital output signal when magnetically recorded information is not being read by the magnetic head, e.g., before the film is fed or during the feeding of the film before the first frame reaches the magnetic head.
Abstract: An image reading apparatus which reads book-like documents placed on a document platen in a face upward condition. A first detector detects the height of the document surface by the shape of a side surface of the document, and a second detector detects the height of the document by the shape of the document surface. A discrimination device detects abnormal height data detected by the detectors, and distortion of image data output from an imaging device is corrected using height data determined to have no abnormality.
Abstract: An imaging device, such as an electric camera, in which an optical image of an object is converted into a set of image data. The device includes a line sensor and an area sensor. A lens system impinges the optical image onto the line and area sensors, where the first and second data are produced, respectively. At this time, a scanning mechanism moves the line sensor relative to the optical image to scan the optical image. The first and second data is then synthesized into the image data to be output.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus and a cleaning blade employed in the image forming apparatus which is operable to form an electrostatic latent image on an image carrying member, develop the latent image with toner into a visible toner image, transfer the toner image onto a record member and fix the same, and having an edge pressed against the image carrying member with a predetermined pressure for removing residual toner on the image carrying member after the transfer. A degree of toluene swelling of the cleaning blade is in a range from 20% to 100%, and the cleaning blade has an impact resilience in a range from 10% to 65%, a Young's modulus in a range from 30 to 120 kg/cm.sup.2, and a 300%-modulus in a range from 100 to 600 kg/cm.sup.2.
Abstract: In a program reset processing, a camera confirms stopping of the lens by a focus lens drive state obtaining communication. Then, a lens request obtaining communication is performed. When the lens can return to the AF mode and is in the MF mode, an "AF/MF switch instruction" is transmitted. When a "lens request obtain" communication is performed and it is confirmed that the mode has been switched to the AF mode, "mechanism resetting" is performed. Thus, troubles in setting the focus mode can be prevented.

Abstract: An electronic mail system in which a mail management method is improved in order to reduce the complexity and labour of handling transmitted information so that its convenience is increased. In an electronic mail system in which a plurality of data processing systems exchange messages through mailboxes MB utilizing the stored and forward system, the data processing system which receives a mail M transferred from the mailbox MB is provided with an electronic mail terminal utility. When the data processing system receives the mail M, the electronic mail terminal utility classifies a data file written in the mail M according to specific data contained in the mail M and stores the data file in an appropriate folder based on a result of the classification.
