  • Patent number: 10027817
Abstract: A system, method, and desktop mobile information provider for unifying mobile devices with provisioned endpoints. In one illustrative embodiment, a user's mobile device can receive a mobile event. The mobile device can then transmit the mobile event to either a private branch exchange directly or through a unified communications server. The mobile event can then be displayed to the user's private branch exchange provisioned endpoint, and in one embodiment, the provisioned endpoint being a private branch exchange desk phone. The mobile event can be displayed to the provisioned endpoint using text, light emitting diodes for message waiting indicators, audible tones, or graphics if the desk phone supports it. The provisioned endpoint can provide a response mechanism when a mobile event is received. Often, the mobile event can be a live call whereby the user at their provisioned endpoint can respond to the call without the use of the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 10027620
Abstract: Global identifiers can be dialed from anywhere in the world. The present application relates to a call processing telecommunication system and methods thereof in a wireless network for connecting communication devices. The integrated system can resolve issues with global identification using internal identifiers. In one illustrative embodiment, the global identifiers can be registered and mapped to an internal number such that the global numbers can be used to contact individuals. When a call is placed by a communication device, the internal identifier of the calling device can be tied back to the global identifier, which then provides access to the IP address of the VoIP client to complete the call. For incoming calls, the global identifiers can be translated into an internal identifier to route the call through the network.

  • Patent number: 10009437
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to communication formats and more particularly, to media delivery by preferred communication formats. In one illustrative embodiment, communications between an originator and receiver can be converted into a format preference based on the receiver's context. The context can refer to device type, application usage, time of day, location and user role. The originator can be free to choose their desired format of communication and the recipient can be equally free to choose the best suited format to receive the message. In outgoing communications, the receiver can use their own defined format and the communications can be converted into the originator's chosen format. Media format conversion can be performed unilaterally, for example, the first person can send an email which can be translated to speech for the second person who responds by voice which can be received as voice by the first person.

  • Patent number: 9984363
Abstract: Generally described, the present disclosure relates to communications and more particularly, to a system providing relevant services to transient devices in wireless networks and methods thereof. In one illustrative embodiment, a Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) client on a device can be synchronized with a network so that the device can appear as a local entity. The UCC client can facilitate exchange of data to ease the integration of the device into the local environment. After being synchronized, the UCC client can seek out available assistance from the local network and provide it to the user. Typically, the data retrieved from the local network pertains to the current location. The local network can be used to provide wireless service to mobile devices in order to remove them from their carrier network, including providing a local breakout via a Private Branch Exchange (PBX).

  • Patent number: 9930633
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining a location of a mobile device are disclosed. A location of a second (e.g., mobile) device can be determined using location information of a first (e.g., stationary or wired) device. The location information of the first device can be sent, using the second device, to a server, which can then transmit corresponding location information to, for example, a call center.

  • Patent number: 9762748
Abstract: Power management is provided in an Internet protocol (IP) telephone and system to provide energy savings during times that the IP telephone is not in use or use is not expected. A low-power operating mode disables at least a portion of the IP telephone. The low-power operating mode may be initiated by a command received by the IP telephone from the IP telephone controller according to a schedule, which may be modified locally by the user to individualize the user's schedule. The low-power operating mode may alternatively be activated manually by a user pressing a special key, sequence or combination. The low-power operating mode is canceled upon an indication that a user either is or should be present at the IP telephone.

  • Patent number: 9762740
Abstract: A T2P (TDM to packet) delay buffer is provided. The delay buffer can prevent double digit detections caused by in-band DTMF leak when out-of-band DTMF is used. The T2P delay buffer is initialized with an audio pattern that represents silence in a configurable amount of delay. When a DTMF digit is detected, the system can stop taking the voice payload from the T2P delay buffer and start injecting RFC4733 RTP packets into the RTP stream at a pre-configured rate. The RFC4733 DTMF RTP packets continue to be injected into the RTP stream until the DTMF digit stops. Once the end of the DTMF digit is detected, the content of the T2P delay buffer can be discarded and the T2P delay buffer is reinitialized with an audio pattern that represents silence in a configurable amount of delay. After the T2P delay buffer is reinitialized, the voice packetization can be continued.

  • Patent number: 9674349
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to communications, and more particularly, to a seamless interworking of call control between autonomous systems. In an illustrative embodiment, an electronic device is provided. The electronic device can be connected to multiple autonomous networks, for example, a private network through a Private Branch Exchange and a public network through a Public Switched Telephone Network. The user device can have multiple network interfaces. Alternatively, there can be one network interface to access the autonomous networks. These networks each can provide unique collaboration services. Collaboration services can include, but are not limited to, associations, roles, availability and features. The electronic device can setup connections and initialize a call through both networks. Through the device, each of the networks can add or delete participants to the call under the direction of the user. The networks can also provide the user device with suitable feature keys.
