    Abstract: An output-terminal device for an a.c. generator for a vehicle includes an output-terminal bolt which has a flat portion at its rear end, a polygonal flange portion at an intermediate portion and a threaded portion at its front end. The output-terminal bolt is connected at its flat portion to a connecting seat which is extended from an output side heat sink of a rectifier device attached to the rear bracket of the a.c. generator. An insulation cover is fitted to the rear bracket and supports an insulation terminal socket provided with a cylindrical portion at which bottom portion a polygonal opening is formed. The polygonal flange portion of the output-terminal bolt is fitted to the polygonal opening.

    Abstract: An apparatus for detecting the in-cylinder pressure of an internal combustion engine having a plurality of cylinders and for providing in-cylinder pressure parameters is described which comprises a plurality of pressure sensors for detecting the pressures in the respective cylinders, a signal selector, a microcomputer and a crank angle sensor. The signal selector sequentially selects the pressure signals from the pressure sensors to be transfer to the computer and the computer computes the pressure parameters in accordance with the received signals for each of the cylinders. The operation of the apparatus is executed by referring to the crank angle signal from the crank angle sensor.

    Abstract: In a method of adjusting the balance of the rotor of an AC generator which comprises a pair of magnetic pole cores with magnetic pole claws which are intertwined with each other, the amount and direction of unbalance of the rotor are detected, the amount of unbalance thus detected is divided into two components along the center lines of adjacent magnetic pole claws, a hole is drilled in the outer peripheral surface of the magnetic pole claw on which the larger of the components lies in such a manner that the hole is in alignment with the center line of the magnetic pole claw; and those operations are carried out repeatedly until the balance thus adjusted falls in a predetermined range of allowance, whereby the balance of the rotor is readily adjusted with high accuracy.

    Abstract: A vibration sensor is provided in which the depth of a caulked portion of the sensor's case is increased so as to increase the capacity of a recess defined between this caulked portion and the cover. The volume of a potting agent filling the recess can thereby be increased to improve the airtightness of the caulked portion and the reliability of the vibration detector. A vibration plate having cutouts circumferentially spaced along an outer, peripheral portion may be used in the vibration detector if the volume of the space formed on a lower side of the vibration plate is limited to about a few to ten percent of that of the space formed on the opposite, terminal side. The expansion of air in the spaces caused by a thermal shock is therefore substantially equal to the expansion of air contained in the space on the terminal side alone, so that vibration sensor can maintain sufficient airtightness and can be improved in reliability.

    Abstract: A distance measuring apparatus which can accurately measure the distance to an object and keep track of the object. In the apparatus, a pair of image-pickup optical systems pick up an object. A window including the object is set in an image picked up by one of the image-pickup optical systems. The distance to the object is measured by calculating correlation between the image in the window and an image picked up by the other image pickup optical system. Tracking an object is also possible by taking a correlation of images in the window formed in a time sequence. Adequate exposure is determined from an image signal in the window so that the image pickup optical systems are controlled to set the adequate exposure to the image in the window. Contrast of an image in the window becomes distinct, thus enabling accurate distance calculations and tracking of an object.
