  • Patent number: 5165108
Abstract: A vehicle-to-vehicle distance detecting apparatus for use in tracing a preceding vehicle is disclosed in which the driver is able to set a vehicle tracing window on a displayed picture image of the preceding vehicle in an easy manner while driving the vehicle. Even if there are a plurality of preceding vehicles, the driver is able to easily identify a particular one of them which his or her vehicle is tracing for measuring the distance therebetween. The apparatus is also able to automatically monitor objects ahead of a vehicle and warn the driver of a possible danger of collision with an obstacle when no instruction is given by the driver for setting an image-tracing window for tracing a preceding vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5160878
Abstract: An induction motor controller which compensates for changes in primary resistance values and secondary resistance values that occur with changes in temperature. Multi-phase current and voltage values are detected at the motor input and converted into primary currents and voltages within an orthogonal system and are used to calculate equivalent and estimated equivalent values of magnetic flux. The flux values are used to generate an estimated value of rotary angular velocity of the induction motor, which is used as a basis for controlling in a feedback manner the generation of the command signals for the motor. The magnetic flux values generated in response to the orthogonal voltage and current values are sensitive to a predetermined primary resistance value and a predetermined secondary resistance value. Circuits for automatically changing the predetermined primary resistance value alone or together with the predetermined secondary resistance value, in response to ones of the flux values, are provided.

  • Patent number: 5159555
Abstract: A control apparatus for support unit of vehicle, wherein a physical quantity which affects characteristics of a support unit for supporting a vehicle body such as a suspension or stabilizer and a state quantity which shows movement of the body or support unit are detected. The similarity corresponding to the detected physical quantity and state quantity is calculated using fuzzy logic, request indexes of comfort to ride and operation stability are calculated from the similarity. The request indexes are composed to obtain the center of gravity, so as to judge the most optimum characteristics of the support unit. This control apparatus automatically substantially analoguely judges whether either of the comfort to ride or the operation stability should be prioritized.

  • Patent number: 5153446
Abstract: A control apparatus of a rotational speed of an engine outputs a drive signal for adjusting the opening of a control valve which controls a specific volume of intake air of the engine to control the engine speed. The drive signal is based on the sum of a basic control amount and a correction amount. The correction amount is varied such that an actual speed of the engine and a target speed tend to become equal during the idling condition. When the engine goes to the idling condition from the loaded condition, the drive signal is added to a predetermined value to provide a much larger value of the drive signal than in the normal idling condition, and is then progressively decreased until the sum becomes equal to said first control amount. Thus, the engine can be operated without too large a drop in engine speed.
