The floor surface blasting apparatus comprises a work arm which has weld line detecting sensors for detecting a weld line at the tip end and also has a blast head incorporating a suction nozzle; a work carriage which has the work arm and magnet devices incorporating a magnetic substance and travels arbitrarily on the floor surface; a transfer carriage which has a blast device for supplying blasting material to the blast head and travels arbitrarily on the floor surface; and a control device which controls the blast head so that the blast head is positioned on a weld line in accordance with the detection signal from the weld line detecting sensors and the signal of a position detecting device for detecting the position of the blast head and also makes the transfer carriage follow the work carriage.

    Abstract: A wet flue-gas desulfurization system which effectively reduces the mist concentration in the treated gas at its outlet. The system includes an absorption column, formed with a tank at the bottom which is supplied with an absorbent slurry and a circulating pump for forcing the slurry upwardly from the tank into the flue gas inlet at the top of the column for contact with flue gas. Sulfur dioxide, for example, is removed from the flue gas, being introduced in the flue gas inlet, by absorption with the absorbent slurry. The treated gas, free of sulfur dioxide, is discharged through a gas-outlet duct formed to rise integrally from the top of an end part of the tank. For reducing the mist concentration a mist eliminator is provided and is held upright, as a vertical partition, across the riser of the duct, with the lower end of the eliminator being extended partly into the bath of the absorbent slurry inside the tank.

    Abstract: In a method of desulfurization used at a geothermal power plant, stem removed from a production well, after being used for power generation, is condensed and separated into condensed water and hydrogen sulfide-containing gas, and the hydrogen sulfide-containing gas is treated at biochemical treatment tank. The initial cell density of the reactor liquid of the biochemical treatment tanks is adjusted by cell culture liquid obtained from a cell breeding culture tank provided independently of the biochemical treatment tanks and water or a part of hot water returning to a reduction well, hydrogen sulfide-containing gas is supplied thereinto and desulfurized thereat. With lowering of activation at the biochemical treatment tanks and with lowering of desulfurization ability there, the acidified reaction liquid is removed and is added to the hot water returning to the reduction well. Accordingly, addition of inorganic nutritive salt for cell breeding becomes unnecessary.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a heat insulation covering for a spherical storage tank such as an LNG tank or the like for storing an extremely low temperature liquid. The covering is constructed by using elongated panel-like heat insulating panels. A plurality of slit parts having a U-shaped cross section are formed along the longitudinal direction of a foam-resin heat insulating panel formed in an elongated panel-like configuration. In the slit part, a heat insulating material is inserted. The material has a sufficient expandability under extremely low temperatures. The heat insulating panel can be deformed along the curvature of the surface of the spherical tank. The heat insulation covering of the spherical tank is formed of the heat insulating panels which have an elongated configuration. With such a structure, only a few kinds of heat insulating panels need be prepared, which is favorable in terms of cost.

A swaying shift and a swaying velocity of the suspended load is detected by an image sensor. Furthermore, a shift and a velocity of a structural body is detected by a structural body vibration detector. A controller receives the detection signals from these sections, calculates the optimum trolley velocity based upon a control theory and outputs a trolley velocity command. Then, a trolley drive device is driven in accordance with the trolley velocity command from the controller. The suspended load is delivered to a desired position in a stable manner under the condition that swaying of the suspended load and the vibration of the structural body are suppressed.

    Abstract: A nozzle extension mechanism for a rocket engine is applied to an engine in an upper stage rocket in a multi-stage rocket. Since a high expansion nozzle to be used in the upper stage rocket engine is long, the rocket is divided at a nozzle portion in view of volume efficiency. The nozzle portion is retracted and received around the upper stage rocket engine and is shifted to a high altitude space. The nozzle portion is assembled for use prior to operation. For this reason, in order to bring the nozzle portion from the retracted condition to the operative condition, it has been necessary to use a drive source, a power device or a shifting device for shifting the nozzle portion. This leads to a weight problem. The devices left in the upper rocket adversely affect the payload. This is resolved by using a fastening portion provided at a rear end of the high expansion nozzle that is received by and then separated from a coupling mechanism provided at a front end portion of the lower stage rocket.
