    Abstract: A cellulose solution having excellent fluidity and formability is prepared by dissolving a cellulose composition containing a component (I) of cellulose having a polymerization degree of 500 to 1000, and a component (II) of at least one member selected from celluloses having a polymerization degree corresponding to 90% of that of the component (I) cellulose and being in the range of from 350 to 900, cellulose derivatives and polysaccharides, the mixing ratio of the component (I) to the component (II) being 95:5 to 50:50, in a mixed solvent comprising N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide and another solvent material compatible with N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide but not capable of dissolving cellulose therein, and the resultant cellulose solution being useful for producing shaped articles, for example, fibers and films.

    Abstract: Acrylic multilayer polymer powders containing coagulated powders of emulsified latexes of acrylic multilayer polymers, which are suitable for drying methods using pressure dehydration extruders, etc, comprises not more than 40 wt % of a fine powder of a particle size of 212 .mu.m or less after drying, and have a volume of gaps of a pore size of 5 .mu.m or less after drying of not more than 0.7 cc per unit weight as measured by a mercurial pressure method. A desired monomer is subjected to emulsion polymerization to produce an emulsified latex of an acrylic multilayer polymer, which is then poured into a coagulating solution for coagulation.

    Abstract: An amorphous alloy which has a composition represented by the general formula (Fe.sub.1-a Co.sub.a).sub.1-x-y-z P.sub.x W.sub.y M.sub.z (where 0.9.ltoreq.a, 0.04.ltoreq.x.ltoreq.0.16, 0.005.ltoreq.y.ltoreq.0.05, 0.ltoreq.z.ltoreq.0.2, and M is one or more transition elements other than Fe, Co, and W. In a method for producing the amorphous alloy comprising at least Fe, Co, P and W by electrodeposition, the electrodeposition is performed in an acidic electrolyte bath which employs phosphorous acid and/or a phosphite as the P source and sodium tungstate as the W source, or in an acidic electrolyte bath which employs sodium phosphotungstate as the P and W source. The amorphous alloy which contains phosphorous as the metalloid element exhibits little reduction in saturation magnetization, and the crystallization temperature may be increased to above 450.degree. C.

    Abstract: A thin amorphous alloy of cobalt, iron and phosphorus having good workability and the ability to be used as a soft magnetic material is formed by electrolytic deposition. The electrolytic bath has a pH of 1.0 to 2.2 and contains at least a divalent cobalt ion, a divalent iron ion, and phosphorous acid and/or a phosphite. The amorphous alloy contains at least 69 atomic percent cobalt, 2 to 30 atomic percent phosphorus and the iron/(cobalt+iron) atomic ratio is from 0.001 to 0.1. The alloy may be deposited on a working electrode having a chrome-plated surface with a center line average roughness of less than 1 .mu.m and may be peeled from the electrode to obtain a tape-shaped or foil-shaped product.

A refractive index n.sub.0 at a central part of the article is in a range of 1.4 to 1.6. The article has a refractive index distribution constant of larger than 0.15 mm.sup.-1 and smaller than 0.3 mm.sup.-1, and a modulation transfer function of at least 55%. This optical transmission article is made from uncured liquid substances each having a viscosity of between 10.sup.3 and 10.sup.8 poises. This invention also includes molding compositions containing such liquid resin and a specified type of inorganic filler and/or a certain type of thermoplastic high molecular compound as well as molded objects obtained by curing such compositions in a mold.
