    Abstract: A process for the continuous preparation of aniline by hydrogenating nitrobenzene with hydrogen is disclosed which comprises the steps of suspending, in an aniline solvent, a catalyst of palladium or palladium-platinum which is deposited on a lipophilic carbon having an oil absorbency of at least 100, and carrying out reaction at a temperature of from 150.degree. to 250.degree. C. substantially in the absence of water while aniline and water formed in said reaction are continuously distilled off as vapor from the reaction product, and the concentration of nitrobenzene in the reaction solution is maintained at 0.01% by weight or less, wherein a zinc compound is added to the reaction system as a promotor and carbon monoxide is added to the hydrogen at a concentration of 1-500 ppm.

    Abstract: A molded article of a syndiotactic polypropylene having excellent transparency in which a melting point attributed to the polypropylene having the syndiotactic structure measured at a heating rate of 10.degree. C./minute by differential scanning thermal analysis is represented by a substantially single peak, the aforesaid molded article being prepared by heating, melting and then hot-molding a homopolymer of propylene or a copolymer of propylene and a small amount of another olefin, which have a substantially syndiotactic structure, or a mixture of the homopolymer or the copolymer and a small amount of a polypropylene having a substantially isotactic structure, followed by quenching, or, after these steps, additionally subjecting the above molded article to a heat treatment at a temperature of less than its melting point. A method for preparing the above molded article is also disclosed here.

    Abstract: A polyimide resin composition comprising 50-95 parts by weight of a polyimide resin represented by the following formula (1): ##STR1## wherein X represents a direct bond, a hydrocarbon group, a carbonyl group, a thio group or so, Y.sub.1 -Y.sub.4 individually represent a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group or so and R.sub.1 represents an aliphatic group, an aromatic group or so; and 50-5 parts by weight of a polyetheretherketone, said composition having been subjected to heat treatment at 250.degree.-330.degree. C. and, after the heat-treatment, having crystallization enthalpy of 0-6 cal/g.The heat treatment of the polyimide resin composition can be effected at a low temperature in a short time. The polyimide resin composition has excellent dimensional stability and high-temperature physical properties. Moreover, it has excellent moldability and peeling resistance.

    Abstract: A process for preparing a block copolymer of an .alpha.-olefin and a vinyl compound is here disclosed which comprises the steps of polymerizing an olefin selected from ethylene and the .alpha.-olefin having 3 or more carbon atoms by the use of a divalent or a trivalent rare earth metal complex, and then polymerizing a vinyl compound, a vinylidene compound or a lactone. According to the process of the present invention, a polar group can be introduced into a polyolefin, whereby the characteristics of the polymer can be effectively improved.
