    Abstract: Disclosed is an unsaturated elastomer composition comprising (A) an unsaturated olefin copolymer of at least one &agr;-olefin of 2 to 20 carbon atoms, a conjugated diene monomer represented by the following formula (I), and optionally, an aromatic vinyl compound, and (B) at least one rubber selected from a diene rubber and an ethylene/&agr;-olefin/nonconjugated polyene copolymer rubber, a weight ratio of said component (A) to said component (B) ((A)/(B)) being in the range of 1/99 to 99/1; wherein R1 and R2 are each independently a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group of 1 to 8 carbon atoms or an aryl group, and at least one of R1 and R2 is a hydrogen atom. From the composition, a vulcanized product excellent in vibration damping properties, vibration insulation properties and strength properties as well as in heat resistance, weathering resistant, ozone resistance and dynamic fatigue resistance can be obtained.

    Abstract: A polypropylene resin composition for use in automotive inner and outer trims, comprising 50 to 85% by weight of a crystalline polypropylene (A) having an MFR (230° C.) of 7 to 70 g/10 min, 2 to 16% by weight of a hydrogenated block copolymer (B) obtained by hydrogenating at a hydrogenation ratio of at least 90% an aromatic vinyl/conjugated diene block copolymer which contains an aromatic vinyl block polymer unit in an amount of 22% by weight or less and has an MFR (230° C.) of at least 5 g/10 min, and 5 to 25% by weight of an inorganic filler (G) having an average particle size of 0.1 to 3 &mgr;m as essential components. This composition may contain, as optional components, another hydrogenated block copolymer (C), an aromatic hydrocarbon copolymer (D), a crystalline polyethylene (E) and a soft ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer (F). This composition is excellent in heat resistance, rigidity and impact resistance and can provide a molding having beautiful appearance.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed towards a lubricating oil comprising a random copolymer of an &agr;-olefin/aromatic vinyl compound, wherein the copolymer has a viscosity falling within a specific range and comprises ethylene, an aromatic vinyl compound, and optionally an &agr;-olefin. The lubricating oil possesses excellent viscosity properties, thermal stability, oxidation stability, abrasion resistance, and compatibility with lubricating oil additives. The random copolymer having a different viscosity range is useful as a viscosity index improver and a compatibilizing agent for a lubricating oil. The invention also provides a lubricating oil composition comprising a base oil and the viscosity index improver or the compatibilizing agent. The invention further provides a fuel oil composition comprising a fuel oil fluidity improver based on the above random copolymer having a different viscosity range and a middle fraction fuel oil having a boiling point of 150 to 400° C.

    Abstract: A laminating propylene/1-butene random copolymer composition comprising a propylene/1-butene random copolymer and a low-density polyethylene in a specified proportion. With respect to the propylene/1-butene random copolymer, the content of structural units derived from propylene, content of structural units derived from 1-butene, MFR, Mw/Mn and B-value as a parameter indicating the randomness of copolymer monomer chain distribution fall within specified ranges. With respect to the low-density polyethylene, the MFR and density fall within specified ranges. The invention also provides a composite film comprising a substrate film such as a crystalline polypropylene film and, laminated onto at least one side thereof, a resin layer of the above composition having a thickness of 2 to 200 &mgr;m. The above composition is excellent in laminate moldability and enables producing a composite film having excellent low-temperature sealing properties, blocking resistance and hot tack.

Also disclosed is a multi-layer laminated film of 3 or more layers in which a layer of the above composition is interposed between an ethylene polymer layer and either a polyamide resin layer, an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer layer or a layer of a mixture of polyamide resin and ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer.

    Abstract: A piezoelectric unit is composed of a plurality of piezoelectric elements. In one embodiment, a first driving electrode is provided over the whole surface of the lower surface of the piezoelectric element. A second driving electrode is provided over the whole surface between the piezoelectric elements. The driving electrodes are connected to a driving signal source. Detection electrodes are provided on the upper surface of the piezoelectric element. At least one of the detection electrodes is connected to one of the output terminals and at least another of the detection electrodes is connected to the other of the output electrodes. One piezoelectric element is polarized upward and another piezoelectric element is polarized downward. A vertical 1st order vibration is driven in a longitudinal direction and a 2nd order bending vibration is detected by the detection electrodes, and a voltage proportional to a coriolis force (rotational angular velocity) is outputted.
