    Abstract: A gas permeable porous film which is prepared by stretching a film made from a mixture containing a polyolefin resin and an inorganic filler at least uniaxially and possesses a rugged pattern on its surface. One process for producing the film comprises forming the aforesaid mixture into a film, providing on the surface of the film a rugged pattern, stretching the resulting film at least uniaxially, and forming on the stretched film thus-formed a rugged pattern by means of a heated emboss roll and simultaneously allowing the stretched film to contract.

    Abstract: An evaporator which is formed, in combination, of a first evaporator of a centrifugal falling-film type; and a second evaporator having a shape formed of a heating side wall portion of a downward-pointing conical configuration, a cover portion defining at least one opening, through which a liquid to be treated is charged and resulting volatile components are discharged, and a bottom portion defining at least one opening permitting discharge of an evaporation residue. A scraping agitator is built in the second evaporator. The side wall portion is externally wrapped with a pipe or the like, whereby a heating medium is caused to pass therethrough for heating the side wall portion. The evaporation residue discharge opening of the first evaporator is connected to the opening of the cover portion of the second evaporator.The above evaporator is suitable to recover a volatile component from a high-viscosity liquid containing tar-like substances. It can achieve a high recovery rate.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a process for the preparation of cellulose ester films, which comprises dissolving a cellulose ester in an organic solvent, coating the solution on a substrate under rotation and peeling the film formed on the substrate from the substrate, wherein a second organic solvent having a compatibility with the organic solvent and being a poor solvent to the cellulose ester is added to the organic solvent solution of the cellulose ester to precipitate a cellulose ester having a high molecular weight in the cellulose ester, the cellulose ester having a high molecular weight is separated from the solution, and the remaining cellulose ester solution is formed into a cellulose ester film by the rotational film-forming method.The cellulose ester film prepared according to this process is excellent in the thickness uniformity and free of color nonuniformity or streaks and has good optical properties.
