  • Patent number: 4679326
Abstract: A height gauge has a touch signal probe provided on a slider vertically movably supported on a support for the purpose of measuring the dimensions or the like of an object by bringing the probe into contact with the object. A rack is formed on the support, and a driving shaft is disposed on the slider, the driving shaft having a pinion engaged with the rack. To the driving shaft are secured a pulley to which the turning force from a motor is transmitted and a control wheel for manually rotating the driving shaft. A clutch member is interposed between the pulley and the control wheel. When the clutch member is engaged with the pulley, the slider is automatically moved up and down, while when the clutch member is engaged with the control wheel, the slider can be manually moved up and down. The height gauge further includes a control circuit which stops the drive of the motor when the touch signal probe generates a touch signal and which holds the indication of a measured value being displayed at that time.

  • Patent number: 4651291
Abstract: A method for indicating measured value data of a measuring instrument, in which the measured value data of a workpiece to be measured is measured by a measuring instrument, such as slide calipers and the data indicated histogrammatically. There are present divided sections obtained by evenly dividing a set range of a measured value by a divisor, judging which divided section each of the measured value data, which has been successively taken in, belongs to, and storing the frequencies of measurement of the measured value data. The frequencies of measurement thus stored are divided by a predetermined weight coefficient to obtain a quotient, and the aforesaid divided sections are printed histogrammatically as marks representing minimum integers larger in value than the quotient, with the maximum value of variability having a value suitable for being received in the maximum indication places, so that the mean value, variability and the like of the measured values can be readily recognized.

  • Patent number: 4648718
Abstract: The invention provides an optical measuring apparatus in which an object to be measured is scanned by parallel measuring rays, the length of the object being measured from changes of intensity of the measuring rays. The received rays are utilized as start and stop signals from a counter for counting clock pulses. The measuring rays are emitted from a laser and reflected by a rotating mirror to scan the object. When the measuring rays are blocked by the object, the counting operation of the counter is initiated. As the rays again appear from behind the object, the counting operation is stopped. The number of clock pulses counted between the start and stop of the counting operation is used to measure the length of the object. Any error induced from deflection or scattering of the measuring rays at the end faces of the object or from the transparent part of the object can be avoided by providing a register for latching the output of the counter.
