Abstract: The present invention relates to a casing intended for an absorbent article, such as a disposable diaper, incontinence guard or like article. The casing (1) includes a front-part (5), a rear-part (10) and an intermediate crotch-part (22) made of flexible casing material. According to the invention, an elastic band (14, 15) is provided on each outer edge of the casing sides, at least within the crotch-part of the casing. The elastic band is attached, in a stretched state, to that side of the casing which lies nearest the skin of the user when the absorbent article is worn, by means of a narrow, elongated join. The elastic bands also include parts which extend transversely in relation to respective joins, in a direction from the joins in towards the central part of the casing.
Abstract: An absorbent article intended for use as a urine-collecting insert in a diaper or an incontinence guard includes an inner casing layer (2) of liquid permeable material, which when the article is worn lies nearest the body of the wearer, an outer liquid permeable casing layer (3) and an absorbent pad (4) located between the casing layers. The outer casing layer (3) has a lower liquid permeability than the inner casing layer (2), such that liquid absorbed by the article is able to pass through the outer casing layer and absorbed by the diaper or incontinence guard, relatively slowly and in a controlled fashion.
Abstract: A disposable absorbent article, such as a diaper or an incontinence guard, includes an inner liquid-permeable casing sheet which is positioned nearest the body of the wearer when the article is worn, an outer liquid-permeable casing sheet, and an absorbent pad enclosed between the inner and outer casing sheets. The absorbent pad includes, at least in the crotch part of the article, a hose-like body that is comprised of a shape-stable material having a very high liquid permeability. The hose-like body is generally centrally positioned in the article and extends in the longitudinal direction of the article. The hose-like body borders on the inner casing sheet and is surrounded by absorbent material on at least the side thereof remote from the inner casing sheet. The article can also include liquid barriers positioned on respective sides of the hose-like body.
Abstract: An absorption material, preferably for use in disposable articles such as diapers, sanitary napkins or wound dressings, comprises 70-95% of at least one type of absorbing fibers, 2-20% of bonding fibers activated by heat, and 2-25% of a highly absorbent material, the absorption fibers and the highly absorbent material having been bonded into a coherent body by means of the binding fibers.
Abstract: An absorbent article such as a sanitary napkin or a guard for mildly incontinent persons, comprising an elongated absorbent pad (3) enclosed between a liquid-permeable casing sheet (1) facing the wearer in use of the article and a liquid-impermeable casing sheet (2). At least one of the casing sheets extends laterally beyond the absorbent pad forming an outwardly projecting, longitudinally extending edge. Flexible side-flaps (5, 6) are arranged at the long side edges of the absorbent pad (3) and are intended, when the article is used, to be folded around the edges of the wearer's underpants or like garment (9) in the crotch part thereof and attached to the outside of the underpants. Uplifted liquid barrier devices (10, 11) are provided on that side of the article which faces the wearer in use on both sides of the absorbent pad (3) along at least parts of the long side edges thereof between the absorbent pad and the flexible side-flaps.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a resilient body which includes two thin layers (1, 6) of flexible material to which intermediate elastic threads (2, 3, 5) or bands are fastened in a stretched state and disposed in a regular, net-like pattern, and bodies (4) of soft material are disposed between the two layers (1, 6) in at least some of the meshes of the net formed by the elastic threads. These bodies have smaller dimensions than the meshes, so as to permit total or partial contraction of the stretched or tensioned elastic threads. The bodies also have an intrinsic stiffness such as to substantially retain their shape upon contraction of the elastic threads. The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing the inventive resilient body.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the flat manufacture of three-dimensional articles, in particular absorbent disposable articles. According to the invention, a plurality of narrow, flexible absorbent bodies (1.sub.a -1.sub.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing spunlace material in which there is formed a fibrous web by air-laying a layer of fibres of staple length on a forming wire and air-laying a layer of short fibres on top of the layer of staple fibres. According to the invention, the fibrous web is passed to an entangling wire 18 on which there is arranged at least one elongated element 17 whose diameter is much greater than the diameter of the wires 16 in the entangling wire 18, whereafter the fibrous web is entangled. The invention also relates to an arrangement for carrying out the method, and to a spunlace material produced in accordance with the method.
Abstract: A lockable container is disclosed which has a base part and a cover which is pivotally attached to the base part. A lock has a lock catch which is adjustable between a locking position and a free position via key activation of the lock from the outside of the container. In its interior, the container is provided with a holder for a key belonging to the lock. The holder is arranged to form a storage place for the key and to securely hold the key when the lock is not being used. The holder is so located with respect to the lock that the lock catch, through mechanical contact with the key, is kept out of the locking position even when the cover is closed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a disposable absorbent article, such as a diaper or an incontinence guard, which includes an inner liquid-permeable casing sheet (1), which lies the closest to the wearer's body when the article is in use, an outer liquid-impermeable casing sheet (2), and an absorbent body (3) which is enclosed between the two casing sheets. According to the invention, the absorbent pad (3) includes, at least in the region thereof which forms the crotch part when the article is worn, a hose-like body (5) which is made of a shape-stable material and which is highly permeable to liquid. The hose-like body is positioned centrally and extends in the longitudinal direction of the article and borders on the inner casing layer and is surrounded by absorbent material (4, 6) at least on the side thereof remote from the inner casing sheet.
Abstract: A wound dressing for use with exuding wounds is provided comprising a porous hydrophobic layer adapted to directly contact the wound during use and an adjacent absorbent layer attached to said hydrophobic layer, said hydrophobic layer comprised of an elastic net-like porous reinforcing component substantially completely encapsulated by a soft and elastic hydrophobic gel while retaining the porosity of said reinforcing component, said hydrophobic layer thus including openings which permit wound exudate to pass through said hydrophobic layer to be absorbed by said outer absorbent layer.
Abstract: An absorbent, disposable article, such as a diaper, an incontinence guard or a sanitary napkin, which includes an outer liquid-impermeable casing layer which is intended to lie distal from the wearer in use, an inner, liquid-permeable casing layer which is intended to face toward the wearer's body in use and an absorbent pad enclosed between the two casing layers. The crotch part of the pad that is placed in the crotch region of the wearer in use is divided into mutually separate parts, which extend in the longitudinal direction of the article. These separate parts are mutually separated transversely, intermediate originally flat and pleatable areas of the two casing layers which are mutually joined and bridge the space between the separate parts.
Abstract: A disposable diaper which can be put on by means of pressure-adhesive tape. For loosening and refastening the fastening tape tabs, the diaper is provided in the region for fastening the tape tabs with a non-elastic plastic strip, suitably of polyester.
