    Abstract: A method and assembly varies the image density of ink from a plurality of ink jet nozzles to provide substantially uniform ink density. Electronically and automatically the electrical power consumption of an ink jet device having an electrical heater is measured (typically by measuring the current draw), and in response to that measurement, if necessary, pulse or voltage supplied to the heater or heaters of each of the ink jet devices is automatically adjusted. More electrical power is supplied if greater image density is required for a particular ink jet device, and less electrical power if lower image density is desired. During typical operation all pulse widths are reset to default settings, the signal received is calibrated, a pattern generator is signalled to provided test data, the present peak electrical current consumed by each nozzle heater is sampled, and the pulse width for each nozzle heater is set based upon the current sample.

    Abstract: A transfer sheet of a transfer sheet assembly for use in an Autographic Register System has a coating which embodies a colorless color former. The coating is porous and the colorless color former is retained in the pores of the coating until autographic writing is applied to the uppermost record web of the assembly whereby the colorless color former is squeezed out of the coating onto the upper face of the next record web of the assembly. The record webs of the assembly have a developing receptive nature to develop the color of the squeezed out color former. The area of development corresponds to the autographic writing applied to the uppermost sheet.

    Abstract: A method of manifold copying using recording members having a dielectric surface on one side and surface of relatively lower resistivity on the opposite surface, which comprises forming a pack by placing sheet on sheet with the dielectric surfaces facing one way so that each dielectric surface excepting on one outer sheet is in contact with the lower resistivity surface of the next sheet, then placing the pack on a support with the lower resistivity surfaces on each sheet facing the support, then contacting the sheet further removed from the support with pressure imaging means, thereby to form a latent image on each dielectric surface, then separating the sheets of the pack and developing the latent image on each sheet by attracting thereto electroscopic marking particles.
