  • Publication number: 20220287129
Abstract: Techniques for call type selection based on failure probability are described and may be implemented via a wireless device to adapt to a variety of different wireless scenarios. Generally, the described techniques provide a wireless device with the ability to implement a wireless call event via different call types, e.g., different radio access technologies (RATs). For instance, when a first call type frequently experiences failure at a particular location, a second call type is utilized to initiate calls at the location, such as based on call records for historic call events.

  • Publication number: 20220286919
Abstract: Techniques for multiple call types for a call event are described and may be implemented via a wireless device to enable multiple connections for wireless calls. For instance, redundant connections for a call event of a wireless device are established via different call types and utilized to exchange call media of the call event. In at least some implementations, call media from the different call types is combined to provide a combined media stream for output as part of the call event. Thus, techniques for multiple call types for a call event are applicable to increase call quality in different scenarios and environments, such as in situations where a primary call connection experiences an anomaly condition that causes quality call degradation.

  • Patent number: 11436408
Abstract: A device receives an electronic communication from another device, such as an email. The communication is addressed to multiple recipients and the device determines an association of content in the communication to a user of the device. This association of content to a user can be determined in various manners, such as by identifying one of multiple portions of the communication that is directed to the user rather than other recipients of the communication, determining whether the user is a primary recipient or a secondary recipient of the communication, and so forth. The device generates a set of natural language responses to the communication for the user based at least in part on this association. The device displays the set of natural language responses and receives user selection of one of the natural language responses, then sends the selected natural language response to at least the other device.

  • Patent number: 11435853
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing a self-aligning user interface in a mobile electronic communications device having a touch sensitive surface include detecting a finger touch on the touch sensitive surface and determining an angular orientation of the touching finger in a continuous angular coordinate system. A user input orientation is assigned to the touch sensitive surface such that it matches the angular orientation of the touching finger. When a finger gesture is detected on the touch sensitive surface, it is then interpreted by reference to the assigned user input orientation.

  • Patent number: 11438390
Abstract: A method includes identifying a system update for a first device. A forwarding command is sent from the first device to a service provider that provides communications services for the first device responsive to identifying the system update. The forwarding command specifies a second device. The system update is executed after sending the forwarding command. A first device includes a transceiver for receiving incoming communications and a processor. The processor is to identify a system update for the first device, send a forwarding command from the first device to a service provider that provides communication services for the first device responsive to identifying the system update, wherein the forwarding command specifies a second device, and execute the system update after sending the forwarding command.

  • Patent number: 11432132
Abstract: In aspects of dropping extraneous discovery messages, a device application can initiate a discovery message in a device, such as a multicast message initiated for network discovery or discovery of network services. The device implements a status module that can interpose the routing of the discovery message in the device, and determine whether a response to a previous discovery message was received. The status module can also determine a device state of the device, where the device state can indicate whether a discovery message response is necessary. The status module is implemented to drop the discovery message if the response to the previous discovery message was not received and based on the device state indicating that a discovery message response is extraneous.

  • Patent number: 11423172
Abstract: An electronic device includes one or more sensors capturing media content from an environment of the electronic device. A location detector determines whether the environment of the electronic device is situated at a location of residence of an authorized user of the electronic device. A user interface receives user input requesting transmission of the media content to another electronic device located outside the location of residence of the authorized user of the electronic device. One or more processors preclude transmission of the media content to the other electronic device in response to the user input when the location detector determines that one or more sensors captured the media content at the location of residence of the authorized user of the electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20220261210
Abstract: When a speaker device is within communication range of an electronic device, various rules are used to determine whether to connect to or route audio data to the speaker device. For example, the electronic device may prompt the user to choose whether to connect to a wireless speaker device. In situations in which the user rejects connecting to the wireless speaker device, subsequent attempts by the speaker device to connect to the electronic device are also rejected or ignored without further prompting the user, or the wireless speaker device may be connected to the electronic device but audio data not routed to the wireless speaker device. By way of another example, the electronic device may determine whether to route audio data to a wireless speaker device based on signal strength and link quality metrics for wireless communication between the electronic device and one or more wireless speaker devices.

  • Patent number: 11415963
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing power search and harvesting in a drone device provide execution of one or more tasks, wherein one of the tasks has a higher priority than the remaining tasks. A power mode is determined for executing the highest priority task by sequentially determining whether the highest priority task can be executed in one of a plurality of execution scenarios including from a charging pad associated with the drone, from another location using energy harvested from an existing energy source, from another location using energy harvested from an energy source enabled by the drone, or from another location using battery power alone. The highest priority task is executed in keeping with the first usable execution scenario found during the sequential determination.

  • Patent number: 11416079
Abstract: A method including capturing a series of image frames of a hand. The method includes generating a map of hand landmarks for each in the series of image frames. The method includes determining whether the maps of hand landmarks include at least: (i) a first map that matches a first reference map of hand landmarks representing a hand in substantially a start position of a snap motion and (ii) a subsequent, second map that matches a second reference map of hand landmarks representing a hand in a progressed (e.g., intermediate or end) position of a snap motion. The method includes determining that a finger-snap gesture is detected in response to determining that the first map and second map were generated from image frames captured within a snap time limit; and executing an action corresponding to a determination that a finger-snap gesture is detected in the series of image frames.

  • Patent number: 11416632
Abstract: A method in an electronic device designates, with one or more processors of the electronic device, at least one data item stored within a memory of the electronic device for storage in a plurality of remote electronic devices. The method encrypts, with the one or more processors, the at least one data item to create at least one encrypted data item. The method divides, with the one or more processors, the at least one encrypted data item into a plurality of encrypted subset data items. The method then delivers, with a communication device, at least a first encrypted subset data item from the plurality of encrypted subset data items to a first remote electronic device and at least a second subset data item from the plurality of encrypted subset data items to a second remote electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20220256111
Abstract: In aspects of recorded content managed for restricted screen recording, a wireless device displays digital image content, and a screen recording session captures the digital image content and audio data. The wireless device implements a content control module that determines a device application restricts the screen recording session from capturing the media content. The content control module can then pause the screen recording session for a time duration that the device application restricts the screen recording session, and then resume the screen recording session after a determination that the screen recording session is no longer being restricted. As an alternative to pausing the screen recording session, the content control module can add a start delimiter to indicate a beginning section of the screen recording session being restricted by the device application, and add an end delimiter to indicate an end section of the screen recording session being restricted.
