  • Patent number: 11528352
Abstract: A hinge housing of an electronic device is coupled to a first hinge arm extending into to a first device housing a second hinge arm extending into a second device housing. The first hinge arm has a first pin extending from a terminal edge of the first hinge arm that engages a first slot defined by a first plate fixedly coupled to the first device housing. The second hinge arm has a second pin extending from a terminal edge of the second hinge arm that engages a second slot defined by a second plate fixedly coupled to the second device housing. The pins translate when the first device housing and the second device housing pivot to change a displacement between the hinge housing and the device housings, as well as to separate proximal ends of the first device housing and the second device housing in the closed position.

Abstract: An electronic device includes first device housing and a second device housing. The hinge housing is coupled to a first hinge arm extending into to the first device housing a second hinge arm extending into the second device housing. The first hinge arm has a first pin extending from a terminal edge of the first hinge arm that engages a first slot defined by a first bracket fixedly coupled to the first device housing. The second hinge arm has a second pin extending from a terminal edge of the second hinge arm that engages a second slot defined by a second bracket fixedly coupled to the second device housing. The first pin translates with the first slot and the second pin translates within the second slot, respectively, when the first device housing and the second device housing pivot to change a displacement between the hinge housing and the device housings.

  • Patent number: 11522984
Abstract: An electronic device includes first device housing and a second device housing. The electronic device included a hinge housing with a hinge coupled to the first device housing and the second device housing such that the first device housing is pivotable about the hinge housing between an axially displaced open position and a closed position. The hinge of the hinge housing changes a displacement between the hinge housing and the first device housing and second device housing, respectively, when the first device housing and the second device housing pivot about the hinge housing between the axially displaced open position and the closed position.

  • Patent number: 11515983
Abstract: A channel state information request requesting a device to feedback channel state information can be received. Whether the channel state information request corresponds to regular latency based operation or reduced latency based operation can be determined. Channel state information can be derived based on a first reference resource when the channel state information request corresponds to regular latency based operation. Channel state information can be derived based on a second reference resource when the channel state information request corresponds to reduced latency based operation. The reduced latency based operation can have a latency less than the regular latency based operation. The derived channel state information can be reported to a network.

  • Patent number: 11514872
Abstract: A device includes a digital camera positioned underneath a display of the device that captures images through the display. The brightness of the display is controlled when capturing images using the digital camera to reduce interference from light emitted by the display with the captured images. The brightness can be controlled in various manners, such as reducing the brightness of only a camera region of the display that is within the field of view of the camera, reducing the brightness of only an expanded region of the display that includes a camera region of the display and an area surrounding the camera region but less than the entire display, reducing the brightness of the entire display or the brightness of only particular colors of the display, blacking out the camera region of the display, blacking out the expanded region of the display, strobing the display, and so forth.

  • Patent number: 11516434
Abstract: Visual content from different camera systems is concurrently routed to different applications during video call. A first application (e.g., a video call application) receives visual content from a first camera system while in a video call. The user can request to activate a second application, such as a photography application that allows the user to capture and display, store, or otherwise process visual content. A visual content routing system routes visual content captured by a second camera system (e.g., a rear facing camera system) to the second application concurrently with routing visual content captured by the first camera system (e.g., a front facing camera system) to the first application.

  • Patent number: 11515636
Abstract: Front-shielded, coplanar waveguide, direct-fed, cavity-backed slot antennas are described. Various implementations form an antenna unit capable of millimeter waveform and/or microwave waveform transmissions. A bottom shielding structure of the antenna unit defines a cavity, where various implementations include one or more dampening structures within the cavity. Some implementations includes a slot antenna within the cavity defined by the bottom shielding structure, such as a coplanar waveguide (CPW) direct-fed slot antenna, to form a cavity-backed slot antenna. Some implementations connect a top shielding structure to the bottom shielding structure to encase the slot antenna. In one or more implementations, the top shielding structure includes aperture windows to allow waveforms within a frequency range from about between 600 Megahertz (MHz) to 72 Gigahertz (GHz). and radiated by the slot antenna to radiate outward from the antenna unit.

  • Patent number: 11509760
Abstract: A method in an electronic device comprises detecting, with one or more sensors, a geometry or geometric form factor defined by an amount a first device housing or first device housing portion of the electronic device is pivoted about a hinge or deformable portion relative to a second device housing or second device housing portion of the electronic device, as well as also detecting, with one or more other sensors, multiple persons within an environment of the electronic device. One or more processors then enable, in response to detecting the geometric form factor and the multiple persons within the environment, a dual content presentation mode of operation allowing presentation of first content on a first display of the electronic device and second content on a second display where the first content and the second content are different.

  • Patent number: 11507342
Abstract: An electronic device, computer program product, and method prioritizes communication between participants in a communication session. A controller configures the electronic device to identifying participants, each respectively using a second electronic device to participate in the communication session. The controller associates a priority rank for each of the participants. The controller monitors for an indication from each of the second electronic devices that a corresponding participant among the participants is attempting to speak to the other participants during the communication session. In response to receiving two or more indications, the controller compares the respective priority ranks of the participants corresponding to the two or more indications. The controller selects the audio stream received from the second electronic device of the particular participant having a highest priority. The controller presents the audio stream to the other participants.

  • Patent number: 11508348
Abstract: Systems and methods of providing improved directional noise suppression in an electronic device implement a technique that specifies a direction or speaker of interest, determines the directions corresponding to speakers not lying in the direction of interest, beam forms the reception pattern of the device microphone array to focus in the direction of interest and suppresses signals from the other directions, creating beam formed reception data. A spatial mask is generated as a function of direction relative to the direction of interest. The spatial mask emphasizes audio reception in the direction of interest and attenuates audio reception in the other directions. The beam formed reception data is then multiplied by the spatial mask to generate an audio signal with directional noise suppression.

  • Patent number: 11508276
Abstract: In aspects of adaptive user interface display size for curved display edges, a wireless device has a display screen with curved display edges to display a user interface that includes selectable elements, which are selectable to initiate respective device application actions. The wireless device implements a display control module that can determine a display size of the user interface effective to prevent the selectable elements of the user interface from being displayed within a curved display edge of the display screen. The display control module can then resize the user interface according to the determined display size, and initiate to display the user interface on the display screen, where at least a portion of the user interface is displayable within the curved display edges of the display screen and without the selectable elements of the user interface being displayed within the curved display edge of the display screen.
