  • Patent number: 11626022
Abstract: Dangerous road events and conditions may be detected and responded to. A first report is received including a first location of a first vehicle and a first acceleration associated with the first vehicle beyond a threshold amount. A second report is received including a second location of a second vehicle and a second acceleration associated with the second vehicle beyond the threshold amount. In response to determining that the first and second reports meet a maximum relative time constraint and a maximum relative location constraint: (i) transmitting a notification to a dispatch console indicative of a potential dangerous road event near the first and second locations, (ii) transmitting a dispatch request to a response vehicle to respond to the potential dangerous road event near the first and second locations, or (iii) storing an indication of the potential dangerous road event.

  • Patent number: 11627440
Abstract: A method and device for improved audio intelligibility in a converged land mobile radio (LMR)/broadband (BB) communications system is provided. A converged portable radio operating as part of a talkgroup in the LMR/BB system checks for predetermined triggers during standby that could cause receive radios of the talkgroup to receive degraded audio. If such a trigger is detected then the converged portable radio switches from the LMR system to the BB system and transmits a notification including a change system message to the other converged portable radios of the talkgroup. The notification is transmitted prior to any push-to-talk audio being transmitted from the originating radio. The converged portable radio can transmit, via a push-to-talk switch, narrowband (NB) audio and wideband (WB) audio in parallel over the BB system to the talkgroup subsequent to the detection of triggers and the sending of the notification.

  • Patent number: 11627469
Abstract: A process for securely pairing devices. A host device receives an input indicating a user credential for logging into the host device and initiates a scanning process for discovering target devices available for pairing with the host device. During the scanning process, the host device receives wireless pairing information from a target device. The wireless pairing information includes a unique device identifier associated with the target device and an electronic signature generated as a function of a signature key stored at the target device and the unique device identifier. The host device compares the electronic signature with a run-time signature generated at the host device as a function of the user credential received at the host device and the unique device identifier. The host device then initiates a pairing process to establish a short-range communication link with the target device when the electronic signature matches with the run-time signature.

  • Patent number: 11627139
Abstract: A process for transferring security access permissions between in-camera users includes capturing, at an electronic computing device via an image capture device, an image of two or more in-camera users. A first in-camera user and a second in-camera user are identified n the image. An input gesture identifying the first in-camera user as a source of security access permissions and the second in-camera user as a destination of security access permissions is detected. Responsively, the electronic computing device causes a first particular security access permission associated with the first in-camera user to be applied to and modify a current set of security access permissions associated with the second in-camera user.

Abstract: Alias capture to support searching for an object-of-interest is disclosed. A method includes capturing, using a camera with a defined field of view, video image frames that include a moving object-of-interest. The method also includes tracking the object-of-interest over a period of time starting when the object-of-interest enters the field of view and ending when the object-of-interest exits the field of view. The method also includes detecting, at a point in time in-between the start and end of the period of time of the tracking, a threshold exceeding change in an appearance of the object-of-interest. The method also includes creating, before the end of the period of time of the tracking, a new object profile for the object-of-interest in response to the detecting of the threshold exceeding change.

  • Patent number: 11620470
Abstract: A device, system and method for generating an alert and an automatic search for a candidate subject is provided. The device monitors one or more data sources to identify a candidate subject. The device determines, from rules for rating candidate subjects stored in a memory, a rating of the candidate subject. When the rating meets a first threshold: the device transmits, to one or more communication devices, an alert identifying the candidate subject. When the rating meets a second threshold, lower than the first threshold: the devices provides, a classifier defining the candidate subject to an object recognition engine to cause the object recognition engine to automatically search for the candidate subject, using the classifier, in multimedia data received at one or more edge devices. The multimedia data may include images.

  • Patent number: 11600168
Abstract: Systems, devices, and technical methods of the present disclosure leverage digital visitor logs from confinement facilities to identify people of interest that may be involved in incidents to which first responders are dispatched. When a phone call is received at phone public safety access point, a first query including a name associated with the call is transmitted to a digital visitor log for a confinement facility. A digital response to the first query identifies a visitee who was visited by a visitor by that name while the visitee was in confinement. The visitee's name is then transmitted in a second query to a digital repository containing release records; a digital response indicates the visitee was released before the call was received. An electronic notification that identifies the visitee is transmitted to a device associated with an agent who is responding to the call.

  • Patent number: 11600274
Abstract: A process for recognizing and responding to a detected audio inquiry by gathering information distributed amongst users and providing a calculated result includes monitoring audio communications and detecting an audio inquiry from a first electronic communication device. It is determined then the audio inquiry is of a distributed information gathering and mathematical operation type and, in response, a plurality of target electronic communication devices that are capable of providing partial answers to the audio inquiry are identified and a request for a partial answer transmitted to each. Corresponding partial answers are received and a mathematical operation performed on the partial answers to generate a final answer to the audio inquiry different from the corresponding partial answers. The final answer is then provided to the first electronic communication device.

  • Patent number: 11600072
Abstract: Techniques for automatically detecting objects left behind. An example method includes receiving video frames of a scene from a three-dimensional (3D) camera and establishing, based on 3D depths associated with the video frames, a background of the scene. The method also includes detecting, in the frames, a foreground blob in the scene based on the foreground blob having a 3D depth that is different from the background. The method further includes detecting that the foreground blob has separated into a blob corresponding to a person and a second blob corresponding to an object, based on the person having a 3D depth that is different from the object. The method additionally includes determining that the person has been separated from the object for a threshold, and responsive to determining that the person has been separated from the object for the threshold, generating an alert indicating that the object is left behind.
