  • Publication number: 20230415122
Abstract: There is disclosed, a desalination apparatus making use of a particles including covalently bonded functionalized magnetic nanoparticles coupled to a complexing agent. For example, the complexing agent may include a crown ether. The particles are optionally used for removing salt from water, for example sea water. The apparatus optionally includes a magnet for magnetic filtering, concentrating and/or removing the particles and/or contaminant (e.g., salt). In some embodiments, the salt is then separated back from the particles using UV light. The remaining unclarified water may be washed out with the contaminant and/or used for salt production and/or disposed of (e.g., dumped back to the sea). Optionally, the particles are regenerated. For example, the regenerated particulars may be reused for further desalination steps (e.g., further salt removal from the clarified water) to clarify new input water. Covalently bonded functionalized magnetic nanoparticles coupled to a complexing agent are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11850763
Abstract: A hair cutter of a shaving device has a support with a skin contacting surface, and a retainer releasably couplable to the support by a coupler to retain an external cutter in an operational/assembled condition of the hair cutter. A retained element of the external cutter is retained between a first retaining member of the retainer and a second retaining member of the support where, in response to manually turning the retainer relative to the support, the shaving surface protrudes relative to the skin contacting surface in the axial direction over an exposure distance. The coupler has a first guide on the support and a second guide on the retainer. The first and second guides mutually engage resulting from manually turning the retainer relative to the support when the retainer is in any angular position between first and second angular positions about the axis of rotation relative to the support.

  • Patent number: 11855527
Abstract: A PFC correction circuit includes first, second, and third phase inputs coupled to three-phase power mains, with a three-phase full-wave rectifying bridge connected to an input node. First, second, and third boost inductors are respectively connected between first, second, and third phase inputs and first, second, and third taps of the three-phase full-wave rectifying bridge. A boost switch is connected between the input node and ground, and a boost diode is connected between the input node and an output node. A multiplier input driver generates a single-phase input signal as a replica of a signal at the three-phase power mains after rectification. A single-phase power factor controller generates a PWM signal from the single-phase input signal. A gate driver generates a gate drive signal from the PWM signal. • Patent number: 11854074
Abstract: A distributed computing system facilitates automatic loan agreements between syndicate participants. The system includes a blockchain comprising circuitry embodying a plurality of blockchain services. A membership service registers participants to the syndicate, generates a unique identifier for each of the participants, and verifies that a respective entity is a node on the blockchain. An oracle service retrievably stores loan terms templates provided by the participants via a centrally managed entity. A smart contracts service receives financial and/or geo-location data associated with the plurality of syndicate participants. A predictive analytics service uses the data to determine whether a first syndicate participant has an excess of funds and whether a second syndicate participant has a lack of funds. • Patent number: 11853393
Abstract: A solution to identify the layout elements in a document is provided. The documents are formulated in an integrated visual space, where they are treated uniformly as a rasterized image. The transformation to image space facilitates exploitation of a spectrum of stylistic cues, such as spacing between the lines and paragraphs. Effective recognition of layout elements is provided by applying a synthetic generator model that creates artificial documents with the required labels and bounding boxes. The generator model is based on a Bayesian Network, offers full flexibility in controlling the document types and labels, and can introduce artificial defects to synthesize low-quality documents. An artificial intelligence model for detecting layouts is trained based on these synthetic documents and the resultant model is used to identify the layout elements in real-world documents. The resulting layout elements, when augmented with the text content, greatly aids in effective information retrieval.

  • Patent number: 11850038
Abstract: The present disclosure describes imaging systems configured to generate adaptive scanning protocols based on anatomical features and conditions identified during a prenatal scan of an object. Systems may include an ultrasound transducer configured to acquire echo signals responsive to ultrasound pulses transmitted toward a target region. Processors coupled with the transducer can generate an image frame from the echoes and provide the image frame to a first neural network. The first neural network may be configured to identify an anatomical feature in the image frame. An indication of the anatomical feature may be provided a second neural network. The second neural network may then determine an anatomical measurement to be obtained based, in part, on the feature identified. The processors may be further configured to cause an indicator of the anatomical measurement to be obtained to be displayed on a user interface.
