  • Patent number: 12250557
Abstract: A control system enables re-registration of user equipment (UE) on an alternative network in the event of a partial failure of a network (VPLMN) for wireless communication. An access and mobility management function (AMF) manages the communication to user equipment (UE) via network slices (1,2,3). A slice priority management function (SPM) receives data indicative of a change in the network's ability to maintain the instantiated network slices and determines to reduce services via affected network slices. Before said slice reduction, the access and mobility management function is informed and sends a slice reduction message to the user equipment.

  • Patent number: 12246046
Abstract: Provided herein are compositions and methods for the treatment of type 1 diabetes (T1D) in mammalian subjects. The compositions include lactic acid fermenting bacteria (LAB) expressing an IL-2 gene and a T1D-specific self-antigen (e.g., proinsulin (PINS)) gene. Exemplary methods include: orally administering to a mammalian subject, a therapeutically effective amount of the composition. The composition can be administered to the subject mucosally, resulting in delivery of the LAB into the gastrointestinal tract, where the LAB is released. Bioactive polypeptides expressed by the LAB are thus administered via mucosal delivery. The LAB may be selected to deliver a low-dose of IL-2 to the subject. The methods may not require concomitant systemic anti-CD3 antibody treatment. The methods may be suited for subjects possessing residual beta-cell function, e.g., those with recent-onset T1D.

  • Patent number: 12245887
Abstract: The present disclosure describes ultrasound imaging systems and methods configured to identify lung abnormalities by determining a uniformity characteristic of a region of interest within ultrasound image frames. Systems can include an ultrasound transducer configured to acquire echoes responsive to ultrasound pulses transmitted toward a pulmonary target region. A processor coupled with the transducer may be configured to generate an image frame from the acquired echoes and determine a uniformity characteristic of the region of interest below a pleural line in the image frame. The processor may also be configured to determine a presence or absence of a lung abnormality, e.g., lung consolidation, within the region of interest based on a value of the uniformity characteristic. If a lung abnormality has been determined to be present, the processor can generate an indicator of the same, which may be displayed on a user interface in communication with the processor.

  • Patent number: 12247420
Abstract: Described herein is a lock system (e.g., for a vehicle door) including an NFC circuit in communication with a microcontroller that monitors the voltage of a battery (e.g., the vehicle battery). The microcontroller switches the NFC circuit to card emulation (CE) mode with energy harvesting capability when the battery voltage falls below a threshold so that the NFC circuit can harvest energy from a nearby Qi wireless charging field and store that harvested energy in an energy storage device. When the energy storage device is sufficiently charged, it is used power the microcontroller and an electronically actuated mechanical lock (e.g., vehicle door lock), then the microcontroller cooperates with the NFC circuit to switch the NFC circuit to NFC reader mode and attempt to verify a nearby NFC device. If the NFC device is verified, the microcontroller operates the lock, otherwise, it maintains the lock in an inactive state.

  • Patent number: 12246347
Abstract: An ultrasound system has a set of CMUT transducer devices and drive electronics for operating a selected device of the set. The drive electronics is shared between all devices of the set. Selection is made by using a set of switches (178), with a respective switch between a DC bias output (166) of the drive electronics and an associated input (160) of each device. This provides a simple way to provide a selection function between the drive electronics and multiple ultrasound devices. In this way, the number of devices may be scale up, to cover a larger area, but without scaling the cost of the system by the same degree.

  • Patent number: 12249427
Abstract: Described herein are methods, devices and systems for predicting ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP). In an example, data of a patient including one or more features useful in predicting VAPs are accessed and the features are extracted. A model is activated based on a time parameter associated with mechanical ventilation or length of stay in ICU. The extracted features are evaluated automatically by the activated model to determine a probability that a VAP will occur. If it is determined, based on the evaluating, that a VAP has a probability of occurring that exceeds a threshold, an indication that the VAP is predicted to occur may be provided. Other examples are disclosed and claimed.
