  • Patent number: 10912527
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for generating dual energy X-ray imaging data. It is described to position (210) an X-ray detector relative to an X-ray source such that at least a part of a region between the X-ray source and the X-ray detector is an examination region for accommodating an object. A grid filter is positioned (220) between the examination region and the X-ray source. The X-ray source produces (230) a focal spot on a target to produce X-rays. The X-ray source moves (240) the focal spot in a first direction across a surface of the target. The grid filter has a structure in a first orientation such that the movement of the focal spot in the first direction results in an associated change in an intensity of X-rays transmitted by the grid filter. The X-ray source moves (250) the focal spot in a second direction across the surface of the target that is orthogonal to the first direction.

  • Patent number: 10916000
Abstract: An image processing apparatus comprises a receiver (201) for receiving an image signal comprising an encoded image. Another receiver (1701) receives a data signal from a display (107) where the data signal comprises a data field that comprises a display dynamic range indication of the display (107). The display dynamic range indication comprises at least one luminance specification for the display. A dynamic range processor (203) is arranged to generate an output image by applying a dynamic range transform to the encoded image in response to the display dynamic range indication. An output (205) outputs an output image signal comprising the output image to the display. The transform may furthermore be performed in response to a target display reference indicative of a dynamic range of display for which the encoded image is encoded. The invention may be used to generate an improved High Dynamic Range (HDR) image from e.g. a Low Dynamic Range (LDR) image, or vice versa.

  • Patent number: 10914851
Abstract: Time of flight (TOF) corrections for radiation detector elements of a TOF positron emission tomography (TOF PET) scanner are generated by solving an over-determined set of equations defined by calibration data acquired by the TOF PET scanner from a point source located at an isocenter of the TOF PET scanner, suitably represented as matrix equation at ?t=CS where ?t represents TOF time differences, C is a relational matrix encoding the radiation detector elements, and S represents the TOF corrections. A pseudo-inverse C?1 of relational matrix C may be computed to solve S=C?1 ?t. TOF corrections can be generated for a particular type of detector unit by identifying the radiation detector elements in C by detector unit. Further, multi-photon triggering time stamps can be adjusted to first-photon triggering based on ?{square root over (P1/Pm)} where P1 is average photon count using first-photon triggering and Pm is a photon count using multi-photon triggering.

  • Patent number: 10912906
Abstract: A mechanical ventilator (10) provides pressure support ventilation (PSV) to a patient (12). A power of breathing (PoB) or work of breathing (WoB) estimator (30) generates a PoB or WoB signal (34) for the patient. An error calculator (36) computes an error signal as a difference between the PoB or WoB signal and a set point PoB or WoB value (22). A controller (20) inputs a PSV control signal (24) equal to the product of the controller transfer function and the error signal to the mechanical ventilator. A patient adaptation component (52, 54, 56, 60) fits parameters of a model of a controlled mechanical ventilation system comprising the mechanical ventilator and the patient to data comprising the PoB or WoB signal and the PSV control signal generated by the operating closed loop controller, and adjusts parameters of the controller transfer function to maintain stability of the operating closed loop controller.
