  • Patent number: 10441247
Abstract: A single element ultrasound transducer is fabricated from a laminate plate which produces multiple transducer elements simultaneously. The laminate plate includes the piezo ceramic, matching layer, and backing layer with rear electrode. The laminate plate is diced while mounted on nitto tape to retain the individual elements in position after dicing. The sides of the elements are covered with an insulating coating, which permits the transducer elements to be surface mounted on flex circuit by bonding the rear electrode to a signal conductor of the flex circuit and the matching layer to a return conductor by metallically coating the mounted transducer element and return conductor on the flex circuit.

  • Patent number: 10448455
Abstract: A mobile telephone 12 acts as a radio communications gateway between a 3G network 10 and a Bluetooth® network 11. A video conference call in the 3G network 10 is relayed over the Bluetooth® network 11 to and from a Bluetooth® enabled laptop Personal Computer (PC) 13, which therefore acts as a radio communications terminal. A Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) received by the mobile terminal 12 with the video conference content over the 3G network 10 is transmitted by the mobile telephone 12 to the laptop PC 13 over the Bluetooth® network 13 as a Pseudo-CQI (P-CQI). In this example, the P-CQI is sent in a FLOW control field of a header 40 of a Synchronous Connection Oriented (SCO) or extended SCO (eSCO) data packet of the Bluetooth® network 11. A video conference driver application running on the laptop PC 13 is then able to alter the video conference call properties according to the value of the P-CQI, thus responding to call quality conditions in the 3G network 10.

  • Patent number: 10441393
Abstract: The toothbrush includes a handle portion which includes a power drive system (14) and further includes a brushhead assembly (20), which includes a brushhead arm having a brush element (21) at a distal end thereof A drive train assembly (12) is responsive to a drive signal from the power assembly for converting the action of the power assembly to a motion of the brushhead assembly. A magnet (30) is secured to the rear of the drive train, with a Hall effect sensor (32) mounted within the magnetic field produced by the magnet as the toothbrush moves in operation. Pressure on the brush element produces a phase shift of the Hall sensor output. A processor (15) determines the value of the phase shift of the Hall sensor signal as pressure is applied to the brush member and produces a signal indicative of the pressure applied by using stored information (71) which relates phase shift to pressure for the particular appliance.

  • Patent number: 10441313
Abstract: The invention relates to a spatial dimension determination device for determining a spatial dimension of a target element like a vessel within an object (9), for instance, within a person. Movement parameters describing a movement of an introduction element (4) moved by a moving unit (2) like a robot and several images showing the introduction element are used for determining a dimensional relation between an image dimension and a real dimension. A further image showing the target element is provided, wherein a real dimension of the target element is determined based on an image dimension of the target element in the further image and based on the determined dimensional relation. An unknown real physical dimension of a target element within the object can therefore accurately be determined from an image of the target element by using, inter alia, the movement parameters.

  • Patent number: 10441230
Abstract: The invention relates to a projection data acquisition apparatus (31) for acquiring projection data. The projection data acquisition apparatus comprises a radiation device (32) for generating a pulsed radiation beam (4) for traversing an object and a detection device (6) for generating projection data being indicative of the pulsed radiation beam (4) at different acquisition positions, wherein the radiation device (32) is adapted to generate the pulsed radiation beam (4) such that at different acquisition positions the pulsed radiation beam (4) has different shapes, i.e. is differently blocked and/or attenuated. Thus, not the complete radiation providable by the radiation device is used at each acquisition position, but at least at some acquisition positions only a smaller pulsed radiation beam is used. This can lead to less scattered radiation and hence to improved projection data and an improved computed tomography image, which may be reconstructed based on the acquired projection data.
