Abstract: An exhaust component includes a first member and a second member. The first member forms a first flow path for exhaust gas. The second member forms a second flow path that has a smaller cross-sectional area than the first flow path. The first member includes a hole-forming portion forming a through hole. The hole-forming portion includes an edge portion, the edge portion protruding toward an outside of the first member in a manner curved from a periphery of the through hole, the edge portion surrounding the through hole. The second member includes an upstream end portion located on an upstream side of the second flow path, the upstream end portion being joined to the hole-forming portion to cover an outer-peripheral surface of the hole-forming portion. The second flow path is for the exhaust gas that has passed through the through hole and flowed in from the upstream end portion.
Abstract: A gas turbine engine includes a fan received within a fan case, the fan delivers bypass air into a bypass duct between an inner radial portion of the fan case and an outer radial surface of an inner core housing. The fan also delivers air into the inner core housing. A compressor section, a combustor and a turbine are within the inner core housing. A bifurcation extends radially to connect the inner core housing to the fan case. The bifurcation has a forward opening defining an air scoop. The air scoop separates air into a first airflow chamber connected downstream to a precooler. The precooler also has a connection to receive compressed air from the compressor section. The air in the bypass duct is delivered to the precooler for cooling the compressed air in the precooler. The air scoop also defines a second airflow chamber for delivering cooling air to components within the inner core housing. An aircraft supply system is also disclosed.
Abstract: An ammonia-rich combustion coupled dual-mode prechamber ammonia-fueled engine control system is provided, including an ammonia-fueled engine and an electronic control unit. The ammonia-fueled engine includes a combustion chamber, a dual-mode jet ignition device, and an ammonia injector. The dual-mode jet ignition device includes a prechamber, an air injector, and a fuel injector. When the engine operates, ammonia fuel is firstly injected into the combustion chamber by the ammonia injector to form a rich ammonia-air mixture with air in the combustion chamber. During a compression stroke of the engine, the rich ammonia-air mixture in the combustion chamber is entered into the prechamber through a jet hole. The air injector performs scavenging in the prechamber until a equivalence ratio of prechamber gas mixture is less than 1.0, and then the fuel injector injects fuel into the prechamber forming target mixture. Finally, the target mixture is ignited by the spark plug.

Abstract: A thermal treatment reactor for feedstocks and method of use. The thermal treatment reactor comprises an infeed assembly, a furnace, a rotary drum, a discharge assembly, and a liberator assembly. The rotary drum may comprise forwarding flights, mixing flights, oscillating flights, and raking pins. The feedstock to be thermally treated enters the reactor through the infeed assembly. The feedstock is fed into the reactor in a controlled manner by means of a screw conveyor system. The thermally-treated product exits the reactor via the discharge assembly, which separates the thermally treated product into a VOC liberator, from whence the product enters into a cooling system to reduce the temperature for safe storage and handling.

Abstract: Devices and methods for determining and extending a remaining useful life of a battery are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, the method receives temperature information and state of charge information of the first battery over a duration of time and metric data of the first battery over the duration of time. The method trains a machine learning model based on historical data associated with one or more other batteries and utilizes the trained machine learning model to determine a remaining useful life of the first battery based on the temperature information, the state of charge information, and the metric data. In an embodiment, the method also receives environment information of the first battery, trains a machine learning model, and utilizes the trained machine learning model to determine at least one mitigation to extend the remaining useful life of the first battery based on the temperature information, the state of charge information, the metric data, and the environment information.

Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically selecting an optimal inversion time for Flow-Independent Dark-blood Delayed Enhancement (FIDDLE). Deep learning is used to train a neural network to perform myocardium segmentation on REF images associated with FIDDLE images. A separate neural network is trained to find the intersection of the recovery curves of normal myocardium and blood pool. The intersection is used to determine the optimal inversion time.
