Abstract: Automated, algorithmic quality control is performed for digital content converted from one form or format to another. Such conversion may be made of movies, television programs, feature films, advertisements, or any other content. The conversion process may be semi or fully automated, and may include a range of alterations, such as pulldown or frame rate conversions, size and/or resolution conversions, addition of content, deletion of content, and so forth. Actual content contained in pre-and post-converted frames is utilized, such as by image recognition techniques, as a base for the quality control routines. Audio data may also be considered. The quality control is fully or nearly fully automated with minimal manual involvement.

Abstract: Systems and methods for mapping affiliated graphs using video fingerprints are disclosed. Some embodiments include receiving first media corresponding to a first package encoding of a video content; identifying a first set of frames of the first media and generating video fingerprints for the first media; receiving second media corresponding to a second package encoding of the same video content; identifying a second set of frames of the second media and generating video fingerprints for the second media; generating a mapping comprising alignment information of one or more frames of the first set of frames and one or more frames of the second set of frames; and outputting the generated mapping for determining a switch point for switching from the first package encoding to the second package encoding during display of the video content.

Abstract: A lighting system comprises a flexible support, such as a pair of fabric or web-like strips, and a plurality of tubular light sources supported by the flexible support. The flexible support may be hung from a support structure, and the tubular light sources will hang generally parallel to one another. Each tubular light source may include a plurality of LED chips, and power supply or conversion circuitry may also be disposed in the tubular light sources. Power cabling extends to the light sources, and may be adapted to provide pass-through power to other, similar assemblies to form a modular system. The assemblies may be easily deployed and repacked for storage and movement. The system is suitable for large area lighting, particularly with panels used for theater, television, and film sets, or with displays, trade show installations, and so forth.

Abstract: Systems and methods for transforming a similarity matrix used to generate content item recommendation lists are described. The system may determine a weight (used to transform the similarity matrix) sufficient to place one or more content items on the content item recommendation list or at a particular position on the recommendation list. The transformed similarity matrix may further be reduced in size, and content recommendations may be generated using the transformed or reduced similarity matrix.

Abstract: Provided is a method for controlling output of a function in response to media content, the method comprising obtaining function information from another party, the function information comprising a content trigger and information related to a particular function associated with the content trigger, receiving the media content when it is reproduced by an external output device, and causing an external terminal to perform the particular function when the content trigger is included in the reproduced media content.

Abstract: A method for minimizing a physical queue for a first guest attraction, the method including storing a guest identifier corresponding to a guest in a first virtual queue, wherein a position of the guest within the first virtual queue is associated with an estimated wait time for the first guest attraction, updating the first virtual queue when the position of the guest within the first virtual queue is changed, providing a notification to the guest to enter the physical queue when the position of the guest in the first virtual queue is less than or equal to a threshold position of the first virtual queue, removing the guest identifier from the first virtual queue in response to an indication to dequeue the guest from the first virtual queue, storing the guest identifier in a second virtual queue corresponding to the physical queue, and removing the guest identifier from the second virtual queue in response to an indication that the guest is exiting the physical queue.

Abstract: A digital rights management (DRM) scheme enables a user having a valid license to digital content to create one or more copies of the content. The number of copies is limited by the DRM scheme. However, if the user is not connected or connectable to the content provider or licensing party when additional copies are desired, the user is permitted to create one or more additional copies without deleting or disabling other copies even though the additional copies exceed the number otherwise permitted by the DRM scheme. The number of such “float” copies may be limited. Rights to such additional copies may be withdrawn during a subsequent connection session between the user and the content provider.

Abstract: A method for customizing content presented to a user, including presenting content to the user; receiving condition information related to a condition of the user; modifying the content being presented to the user to facilitate changing of the condition toward a target condition; and presenting the modified content to the user. An embodiment of the method may also include receiving updated condition information of an updated condition of the user after presenting the modified content to the user, where the updated condition is not within a threshold range of the target condition; and modifying the content again to facilitate changing the updated condition to be within the threshold range of the target condition.

Abstract: A method for communication is described. The method includes providing a channel configured for collecting and editing video associated with a topic. The method includes identifying a plurality of potential parties connected with the topic. The method includes pushing a plurality of invitations to the plurality of potential parties, wherein each invitation comprises a request to join the channel. The method includes receiving a plurality of video feeds on the channel from a plurality of contributors each accepting a corresponding invitation. The method includes editing the plurality of video feeds to generate an edited video.

Abstract: Current embodiments relate to generation/sharing of a snapshot of content that the user is viewing. Upon generation of a request for a snapshot of currently viewed content, the snapshot may be generated based at least in part upon one or more parameters and/or criteria included in the request and/or service generating the snapshot. Upon completion of the snapshot, a response that provides the snapshot or a location where the snapshot may be viewed is provided, such that the snapshot may be provided to particular sharing targets, such as social media platforms, electronic devices, email, etc.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a processor implemented method is provided. The processor-implemented method includes receiving raw lighting information corresponding to one or more lighting events that occur during the creation of primary content, during association of supplemental effects on the primary content, or both. The processor-implemented method also includes decoding the raw lighting information to generate supplemental information. The supplemental information corresponds to one or more lighting cues. The processor-implemented method also includes associating the supplemental information with the primary content by linking each of the one or more lighting cues to each of the one or more lighting events.

Abstract: Subject viewpoint data and external viewpoint data are collected, such as via cameras, and separate virtual or synthetic video views are generated, one from the subject viewpoint and one from an external viewpoint. The subject video view is presented to the subject, such as via a headset, while the external video view is presented to at least one other person. At least the subject video view is presented sufficiently close in time to permit the subject to react to it. A model is referenced so the video views may include a virtual or synthetic setting, or at least partial replacement of the subject with a character, or both.

Abstract: Digital content, such as video, audio, multimedia, and similar files may be segmented at a determined frame resolution rate and analyzed to determine a fingerprint for each content segment. An identifier that uniquely identifies each content segment may be determined based on the fingerprint of the respective content segment. The identifier may be associated with data relating to the content segment and with one or more identifiers that uniquely identify other content segments of the content. The content segment identifiers may be used to construct a content segment sequencing representation that represents the playback of the content segments in playback order.

Abstract: Systems and methods for presenting contextual clips for distributed content are disclosed. Some embodiments include receiving an input for presenting content while the content is currently being distributed at a first distribution time point within the content, transmitting a request for contextual content prior to the first distribution time point, receiving information for displaying a plurality of contextual content clips distributed prior to the first distribution time point, wherein each of the plurality of contextual content clips corresponds to an event depicted in the content, displaying the plurality of contextual content clips using the received information, and displaying the content at a second distribution time point after all of the plurality of contextual content clips have been displayed.

Abstract: A multi-channel embedded data technique allows for embedding data, such as watermarks into multiple channels of audio, video, multi-media, and other digitized content streams. Two or more of the channels may be utilized. The embedded data may be segmented within each channel, and these segments may start and stop at identical times, or may be staggered or offset from one another. The available payload may be used for different data, or redundant data, providing enhanced reliability. Staggering allows for more rapid availability of at least some of the embedded data segments. References may be used between channels and between data streams to provide for highly complex configurations of encoding and decoding of the embedded data.

Abstract: A method for constructing a context profile within a system implementing symmetrical object profiles. The method includes establishing one or more contextual boundary parameters defining a context within which transactions occur. A plurality of transactions associated with the context is filtered using the contextual boundary parameters to obtain a pool of filtered transactions. Each of the transactions is conducted between at least two objects in the system including a plurality of objects associated with the symmetrical object profiles. An array of filtered objects including objects involved in at least one filtered transaction is established. Each filtered object is defined by a current version of a corresponding object profile and is associated with a corresponding transaction. The method includes generating a context object profile associated with the context that is based on attribute values of filtered object profiles associated with the array of filtered objects.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for managing, manipulating and presenting data objects within a graphical user interface with variable dimensions, shapes, locations and interactions. The apparatus and methods allow for variable data objects to be both pinned and liquid depending on a larger management and manipulation apparatus. The apparatus consists of databases that store the data objects to be displayed within the user interface and the layout coordinates, variable potential object size, and whether the object can move or not based on the graphical user interface dimensions. The object manipulations include the representation of such objects on the graphical user interface in a defined sequence.
