Moreover, camera activation signals for the cameras are controlled during long exposure mode of the cameras to reduce illumination by illumination sources of the scanner during the long exposure mode of the cameras.

Abstract: Ordering systems for a plurality of retailer service providers are integrated and provided through a single mobile application (app) to users for user-defined orders. Moreover, payment processing of the retailer service providers are integrated and available for processing payments of the orders through the single mobile app. Retailer-specific branding is maintained and provided through the app.

Abstract: A customer logs into a desired retailer through a Virtual Reality (VR)/Augmented Reality (AR) cross-retailer application (app). Preferences and/or a profile are obtained from the retailer via an Application Programming Interface (API). A customized VR/AR setting is rendered within the app based on the preferences and/or profile and a VR/AR session is initiated with the app. Consumable items and ingredients of each item are rendered as VR/AR selectable objects during the session for interaction by the customer and a custom item is made with selected ingredients. The customer purchases the item within the session and an order is placed with the retailer through the API. In an embodiment, an avatar of the customer and avatars of other customer placing orders with the retailer are rendered on a virtual floor or superimposed on an actual floor of the customer's physical environment within the app for social interaction and social network features.

Abstract: Scanner/scale configuration is performed without scanning a series of programming barcodes and performed when a terminal is in a transaction processing mode of operation. A single code scanned into the scanner, initiates a configuration tool on the terminal and causes a graphical user interface (GUI) window to be rendered on a display of the terminal on top of any transaction windows rendered on the display. The GUI window permits user-defined configuration of the scanner/scale. In an embodiment, the configuration tool also provides a clone code that represents a source scanner/scale's configuration settings, when the clone code is scanned into a target scanner, the source scanner/scale's configuration settings are cloned on the target scanner/scale.

Abstract: A touchless payment option is received for a transaction being processed at a transaction terminal. A payment option for a transaction interface on the transaction terminal is deactivated. A registered payment method is obtained for a customer associated with the transaction and the registered payment method is processed with a payment server to obtain payment for the transaction. Transaction screens associated with the transaction are automatically updated to reflect that payment was received by the transaction terminal. The customer does not touch any surface of touch display to initiate or to perform payment processing at the transaction terminal.

Abstract: During steaming of media selection to a user device, products are identified within scenes of the selection for selection by a user. A selected product returns a Unique Identification Number (UIN). Retailers offering the selected product are identified and prices offered for the product obtained based on the UIN. A sorted list of the retailers and prices are returned to the user during media selection play on the user device. A selected retailer by the user made during media selection play on the user device initiates a transaction with that retailer for purchase of the product by the user. In an embodiment, audit data for selected products and purchased products are maintained; metrics generated for the audit data, and specific targeted products by user or by media selection are identified for highlighting during media selection playing by the users.

Abstract: A sterilizing media cassette is described for docking with a self-service terminal or a docking terminal. The sterilizing media cassette has a body having a lower portion and four sides. The body is adapted to hold a stack of media items such as banknotes on support members positioned above the lower portion of the body. A lid is provided that couples to the body. The lid forms an enclosed inner space when coupled to the body. An ozone gas source and/or a heat source is mounted on an inner surface of the body or the inner surface of the lid. A controller activates the ozone gas source and/or a heat source to sterilize the stack of media items. This may be done for a predetermined fixed period of time after the sterilizing media cassette is docked with a self-service terminal or a docking terminal.

Abstract: A touch field is created around a touchscreen display, the field is in front of a touch surface of the display and the field maps to locations on the display. An operator of a terminal during a transaction is presented with transaction interface screens that are visually rendered on the display. The operator makes interface options selections, performs screen navigation, and provides date entry field inputs by placing the operator's hand within the field without touching the touch surface of the display and making hand poses, hand movements, and/or hand gestures. The poses, movements, and/or gestures are translated into touch actions and touch inputs recognized by the transaction interface and processed as operator-provided input during the transaction.

Abstract: Various embodiments herein each include at least one of systems, methods, and software for value transfer between disparate systems. One such embodiment includes receiving a transfer request to transfer a value from a first account provider to an account maintained with a second account provider and including data identifying an individual or entity that initiated the transfer request. This method also includes identifying the second account provider based on data included in the transfer request and generating a request to transfer the value of the transfer request to the account in a format compatible with the second account provider. The method may then transmit the generated request to the second account provider.

Abstract: A transaction is detected on a transaction terminal. A first code is presented on a display of the transaction terminal that is encoded with an identifier and a passcode for a wireless connection between the transaction terminal and a mobile device operated by a customer. The mobile device processes the code to wirelessly connect to the transaction terminal using the identifier and the passcode. A second code is presented on a display of the transaction terminal. The second code when captured by the mobile device causes a transaction interface to be remoted from the transaction terminal to the mobile device over the wireless connection. The transaction continues with interactions provided on the mobile device and processed on the transaction terminal without any customer touching of the display of the transaction terminal and without any customer touching of any keys or keypad of the transaction terminal.

Abstract: Various embodiments herein each include at least one of systems, methods, and software for electronic transaction processing. One embodiment includes a method that may be performed by a server includes maintaining a database of payee accounts. A payee account may include at least a payee identifier and a payee bank account identifier. This method further includes decrypting code data including at least a payee identifier received from a node over a network via a network interface. The method may then retrieve a payee bank account identifier from the database based on the decrypted payee identifier and transmit a form of the payee bank account identifier to the node over the network via the network interface device. Some such embodiments include a single server, which may actually be multiple servers operating jointly, that provide such services for multiple payees.

Abstract: A scale and scanner system includes a controller to control operation of the scale and scanner system. A scale calibration parameter memory for storing scale calibration parameters is coupleable to the controller. A scanning module and a scale module are coupleable to the controller. When the controller is not coupled to the scanning module or scale module, the scale calibration parameter memory remains in the system.

Abstract: Zones a defined within an enterprise. Video captured from the zones are monitored for threats (financial or physical). Any transaction data associated with transactions are monitored with the video along with sensor data captured from sensors within the zones. Threat policies are evaluated to identify actions and behaviors of individuals within the zones and threat scores are maintained. When a current threat score associated with a specific type of threat for a given individual or set of individuals exceeds a threshold, one or more automated remediation or threat avoidance actions are processed to mitigate and/or prevent the perceived threat.

Abstract: Cloud-based methods and systems are presented for aggregating custom groupings of Self-Service Terminals (SSTs) and managing the SSTs through a network. Real-time information for the SSTs are gathered and interfaces are used to direct selective usage of particular SSTs within a grouping. The groupings optimized for reducing media replenishment and service of any particular SST within the grouping.

Abstract: A retail environment is modeled and simulated based on aggregated operational data. Real-time aggregated data for operations of the retail environment is detected and predictive adjustments to the retail environment are provided for making one or more changes to the retail environment based on the modeled and simulated environment.

Abstract: Transaction items for a transaction are received during a transaction. Any non-barcoded items are identified and processed within a retailer-specific vector space to identify a most-similar barcoded item offered by a corresponding retailer to the non-barcoded item. The transaction items are revised to include the most-similar barcoded item as a replacement for the non-barcoded item. The revised transaction item list is used to identify a recommended item based on a segment-specific vector space associated with a segment assigned to the transaction. The recommended item is provided in real time to a transaction service that processes the transaction for delivery to a customer associated with the transaction.

Abstract: Images of an unknown item picked from a store are tracked, the unknown item is identified during checkout and associated with a specific item having a specific item description. The images and the specific item description are obtained by a machine-learning item detector and processed during a machine-learning training session to subsequently identify the item when subsequent item images are taken for the item for subsequent transactions at the store.

Abstract: A memory device is interfaced to a SST; an identifier and, optionally, an invalid identifier list are received from the device. The invalid identifier list is updated to the SST when the invalid identifier list is a more recent version of a SST invalid identifier list. The identifier is invalidated when the identifier is matched in the invalid identifier list or when an expiration date associated with the identifier has expired. When the identifier is invalid, access to administrative features of the SST is denied; and when the identifier is valid access to the administrative features is granted.

Abstract: A computing system and method has a pre-boot operating system stored in an encrypted form according to a first key on a first portion of a non-volatile data storage drive and a main operating system stored in an encrypted form according to a second key on a second portion of the non-volatile data storage drive. A system built in operating system (BIOS) chip is configured to initiate a first authentication process, obtain the first key after successful completion of the first authentication process, load and decrypt the pre-boot operating system into dynamic memory, and cause the pre-boot operating system to run. The pre-boot operating system is configured to initiate a second authentication process, obtain the second key after successful completion of the second authentication process, load and decrypt the main operating system into dynamic memory, and cause the main operating system to run.

Abstract: Images are captured of a customer during a transaction at a transaction terminal along with images associated with items of the transaction and any bags or cart used to hold the items. The images are processed to track any movement and locations of the customer, items, bags, and cart relative to a known location of the transaction terminal. When a transaction payment is required for the transaction and movement is detected in a direction that is moving away from the transaction terminal before a payment notification is received for the transaction, one or more alerts are raised as an indication to staff and/or security systems of a potential in-progress walk-away theft.
