  • Patent number: 11562377
Abstract: A system and method is described for detecting a foreign object such as a skimmer placed adjacent to a bezel for a magnetic card reader device, as used in automatic teller machines and gas pumps. At least two sensors are mounted adjacent to the bezel. Each sensor provides a signal that varies when a skimmer is mounted adjacent to the bezel. A controller receive measurement signals from the sensors, and generates an alarm signal when the measurement signals differ from associated predetermined baseline signals by at least associated predetermined thresholds. The alarm signal indicates that a foreign object has been detected adjacent he bezel. The sensors may be capacitive, time of flight, spectral, radar, and/or inductive. The capacitive sensors may include three or more plates, forming multiple capacitive pairs, each capacitive pair effectively forming a separate sensor.

  • Patent number: 11552945
Abstract: A biometric token is generated for a user and provided to a user-operated device. A pre-staged transaction is defined by a user and the user supplies the token for association with the pre-staged transaction. Subsequently, a user visits a transaction terminal and a new candidate token is generated from biometric attributes of the user. The candidate token is matched to the token associated with pre-staged transaction to authenticate the user and the pre-staged transaction is processed at the transaction terminal as a completed transaction.

  • Patent number: 11551020
Abstract: A code associated with a managed device is scanned by a mobile device operated by service personnel. The code at least comprises an identifier for managed device. A current geographical location of the mobile device and the code are provided to a cloud/server. The location is associated with the managed device and updated or added to a shared private blockchain ledger. The shared private blockchain ledger shared between one or more enterprises and one or more service organizations. In an embodiment, the managed device dynamically generates the code and presents the code on a display associated with the managed device for scanning by the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 11551014
Abstract: A card reader's motorized transport is controlled by firmware of the reader so as to control a distance that any card can be pulled into the reader during a transaction on a host device. The distance is sufficient enough to allow an embedded chip on the card to be read by a chip read interface but is insufficient to be read by a magnetic read interface. Furthermore, the entire length of the card is prevented from completely passing over the magnetic read interface during the transaction such that any skimmer placed within the reader is physically unable to read the magnetic card information from the magnetic strip of the card. In an embodiment, the firmware is configured to permit only chips from the cards to be read for transactions or configured to turn off chip only reading by permitting both chip reads and magnetic strip reads for each transaction.

  • Patent number: 11551227
Abstract: A machine-learning algorithm is trained with features relevant to basket data for items of transactions. The trained algorithm is trained to predict whether a given transaction is more or less likely to be associated with theft being engaged in by a transaction operator for the transaction. The trained algorithm is then provided basket data for a given transaction and produces as output a theft prediction value. When the theft prediction value exceeds a configured threshold value, the transaction is flagged for manual intervention or the transaction is flagged for subsequent manual verification.

  • Patent number: 11551217
Abstract: An initial multi-digit contact (multi-touch) is detected on a surface of a touchscreen display during initiation of a key entry session on a transaction terminal. A reference row for a logically maintained keypad is set for the key entry session based on the multi-touch. Active rows for the key entry session are changed by swipes up or down. A given key within an active row is selected based on pressure applied by or removed from one of the digits relative to other digits in the multi-touch or based on one of the digits swiped up or down while other digits remain stationary. The key entry session terminates when the multi-digit contact is lifted off the surface without further touching for a preconfigured period of elapsed time. In an embodiment, the session terminates when a multi-touch swipe to the left and then the right is detected (or right and then left).

  • Patent number: 11544735
Abstract: A monitoring project is defined interactively through an interface. Resources needed for the project are obtained, configured, arranged, and verified within a target area. Video and audio feeds are captured and analyzed during a project period within the target area and customer interactions and intentions are derived from detected customer behaviors within the feeds. The intentions and behaviors are indexed with aggregated metrics within a data store. The interface provides custom queries, reports, interactive graphics, and real-time notifications from the data store that depict the custom aggregated metrics for the intentions and behaviors of the monitoring project.

  • Patent number: 11544238
Abstract: Agents are configured to collect data from terminals and send the data in real time to a data integrator. The data integrator identifies the data types and processes custom aggregation on select ones of data types from the data. The data and the output of any aggregations are translated to a select output format and sent to one or more select resources for further processing. The data integrator determines when to send the data and the output from any aggregation in the select output format to the one more select resources based on a defined condition. In an embodiment, the data integrator sends the data and output from any aggregation in real time to at least one of the one or more select resources.

  • Patent number: 11531958
Abstract: Images capture locations of items on store shelves or on store display areas. An item inventory is automatically maintained from the images. Re-stocking rules for each item type are processed and a specific item type is automatically ordered from a vendor when dictated by a corresponding rule. A delivery of the specific items ordered is tracked within the store from the images for re-stocking the specific items within the store during the delivery by a vendor representative. The specific item delivery and restocking are verified, and an automatic acceptance of the specific items is sent to the vendor associated with the delivery when verified. In an embodiment, store personnel (admin, manager, owner) are automatically notified with a successful restocking. In an embodiment, payment is automatically made to the supplier when store personnel confirms the delivery.

  • Patent number: 11513875
Abstract: Inter-microservice communications are managed through in-memory connection routing. A sending microservice writes a message over a port associated with the connection. The message is routed directly to one or more receiving microservices associated with the connection over their ports associated with the connection. The message may be converted to a different format or multiple different formats through plugins processed when the message is received over the sending microservice's port and before the converting messages are routed over the receiving microservices' ports. The inter-microservice communications are hardware and platform independent or agnostic, such that the microservices associated with the connection can be processed on different hardware and different platforms from one another.

  • Patent number: 11501316
Abstract: System and method for detecting a fraudulent activity at a barcode scanner is disclosed. The method issues an alert when the fraudulent activity is confirmed by comparing the visual signature of the item being transacted over the checkout terminal to the model visual signature. The model visual signature is obtained by averaging the collection of visual signature of the item gathered over a period of time. A human validation via a remote processor is employed to confirm the fraudulent activity verified by a computer.
