Abstract: A wide-angle null-fill antenna with no null in the depression angle range, an omni antenna using the same, and radio communication equipment. A null-fill antenna comprises a first antenna array including antenna elements arranged with a prescribed point as the center, and a second antenna array having amplitude characteristics substantially equal to those of the antenna elements forming the first antenna array. The first antenna array is excited so that the excitation amplitude distribution is to have symmetry with respect to the prescribed point, while the excitation phase distribution is to have point symmetry with respect to the prescribed point. The phase center of the first antenna array is substantially coincident with that of the second antenna array.
Abstract: A data encryption system implemented by running on a cache-equipped computer an encryption program including transformation tables each of which contains a predetermined number of entries. All or necessary ones of the transformation tables are loaded into the cache memory before encryption/decryption process. This causes encryption/decryption time to be made substantially equal independently of the number of operation entries for the transformation table. It is very difficult to extract plain texts used to determine a key differential, resulting in difficulties in cryptanalysis.
Abstract: An n-bit shift register 102 for shifting input data through successive bit stages and AND gates 103-i (i being 1 to n) corresponding to the bit stages of the shift register 102 are provided. A control circuit 101 feeds out control signals 107-i for on-off controlling the feeding of the outputs of the corresponding bit stages of the shift register 102. Multipliers 104-i multiply the on-off controlled data and predetermined filter coefficient data, and an adder circuit 105 adds together the output of the multipliers to derive an FIR filter output including ramp-up and -down. A ramp-up/-down signal is fed to a shift register in the control circuit 101, and ramp-up data is derived from the output of the adder circuit 105. Thus, the circuit can be readily constructed without scale increase.
Abstract: In a method of forming a silicon oxide film, the silicon oxide film is formed on a substrate by the use of a plasma CVD method. A plasma-generating region is separated from a deposition region which includes excitation oxygen molecules and excitation oxygen atoms. Plasma of first gas containing oxygen atoms is formed in the plasma-generating region while second gas containing silicon atoms is supplied into the deposition region. First quantity of the excitation oxygen molecules and second quantity of the excitation oxygen atoms are controlled intentionally.

Abstract: Disclosed is a WDM network which has: a lightwave path which connects between clients and each of which is provided with an overhead, and a sub-network which is defined by dividing the WDM network. In this WDM network, the sub-network has a partial lightwave path to go through the sub-network, the overhead has a partial lightwave path supervisory control information region which is terminated at both nodes of the partial lightwave path, and when a fault occurs on a lightwave path, the fault information of partial lightwave path including the position information of fault occurred is added to the partial lightwave path supervisory control information region of the overhead.
Abstract: A method of outputting a demodulation result for soft-decision decoding is provided, which is comprised of the steps of: (a) detecting a channel distortion of a received signal generated in a communication channel using a training signal contained in the received signal and a reference training signal, outputting a channel distortion data: (b) generating a distortion-based reliability data from the channel distortion data; (c) compensating the received signal using the channel distortion data, generating a compensated, received signal; (d) demodulating the compensated, received signal and deciding the received signal thus demodulated using a soft decision technique, outputting a decision result; and (e) outputting a demodulation result using the decision result and the distortion-based reliability data.

In the biaxial driving mechanism, a horizontal rotating mechanism provides a ring gear, whose center axis is the same as that of an optical axis of a camera, holds a mirror, and a motor for rotating the ring gear around the optical axis of the camera.

Abstract: A passenger detecting system includes an antenna electrode, a signal generating circuit, a detecting circuit, and a control circuit. The antenna electrode is provided in a seat to be occupied by a passenger. The signal generating circuit generates and supplies a supply signal to the antenna electrode through a resistor such that an electric field is generated around the antenna electrode. The detecting circuit includes the resistor, and detects a direct current data signal from a line voltage associated with a voltage drop across the resistor, wherein the line voltage changes depending upon an object on the seat. The control circuit determines from the detected direct current data signal, whether or not a passenger is present in the seat and whether the passenger is an adult or a child.
Abstract: In an asynchronous transfer mode network (401), a network controller (404) is connected to terminal equipment units (406) through logic transmission line circuits (408) so as to receive a call signal which includes a parameter representative of a network class and which is produced by one of the terminal equipment units. Each of the terminal equipment units is connected to one of ATM exchangers (402) each of which is connected to at least one of them. The control network controller is connected to the ATM exchangers through logic transmission line circuits (405) so as to order them to admit a connection required by the call signal.

Abstract: A password updating apparatus includes a current password storage section, a seed data storage section, a password generating section, a new password storage section, an access requesting section, and an update requesting section. In the current password storage section, a currently set current password is stored. In the seed data storage section, seed data serving as a seed for generating a password is stored. In the generation data storage section, generation data for generating a password is stored. The password generating section generates a new password from the seed data stored in the seed data storage section in accordance with the generation data stored in the generation data storage section. The new password storage section stores the new password generated by the password generating section. Abstract: A USB cable fixture for fixing a USB cable with a USB connector to a computer is composed of a base portion, an attaching portion, and a fastening portion. Abstract: In a data secret protecting system received in a casing, a data holding memory device holds important data. A distortion detecting device detects a distortion value of the casing to produce a detected distortion value. An important data controlling device compares the detected distortion value with a reference distortion value to produce a compared distortion signal when the detected distortion value is greater than the reference distortion value. The important data controlling device erases, in response to the compared distortion signal, the important data. The data secret protecting system may comprise a temperature measuring device which measures a temperature value of the case to produce a measured temperature value. In this event, the important data controlling device corrects, in response to the measured temperature value, the detected distortion value to produce a corrected value of the detected distortion value.

Furthermore, the data in the three libraries can be updated or new data can be added.

Abstract: In a phase-locked loop circuit with a signal estimator such as MLSE or DDFSE for correctly detecting and correcting a phase deviation, the phase deviation is held within a predetermined value by amplitude limiting a phase deviation signal obtained from a received signal and a replica signal. Thus, the phase deviation signal is free from a large error irrespective of generation of an estimation error in the MLSE or DDFSE.
