Publication number: 20040021822Abstract: Disclosed is a panel assembling process concerning a suitable pattern of seal material interposed between facing substrates which is designed for adopting a liquid crystal injection method. The seal material has two groups. The first group is formed to provide an internal space to be filled with the liquid crystal for display area. The second group is formed around the first group to reinforce it during a panel cutting process. The second group as reinforcing members is arranged such that air within the internal space can be easily discharged via a short air outlet route between a peripheral end of the panel and an injection inlet formed in the first group as a seal member. Particularly, an air outlet forming member connected to an injection inlet of the seal member is elongated to the peripheral end of the panel, and an air outlet auxiliary member constituting an air outlet is formed within the air outlet forming member to prevent deformation of the air outlet.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 29, 2003Publication date: February 5, 2004Applicant: NEC LCD Technologies, Ltd.Inventor: Hidefumi Yoshizoe

Publication number: 20040021819Abstract: A LCD device prevents image quality degradation caused by the gap non-uniformity in the display region with a simple measure. A TFT substrate and an opposite substrate are coupled to each other with a sealing member in such a way as to form a gap therebetween. A liquid-crystal layer is formed in the gap. Spacers are arranged in the liquid-crystal layer. The TFT substrate has a display region defined to include the pixels and a non-display region formed outside the display region. The non-display region is located between the display region and the sealing member. The spacers are located in a first part of the liquid-crystal layer corresponding to the display region while no spacer being located in a second part of the liquid-crystal layer corresponding to the non-display region. A depression for receiving extra liquid crystal may be additionally formed in the gap.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 30, 2003Publication date: February 5, 2004Applicant: NEC LCD TECHNOLOGIES, LTDInventor: Tsutomu Kadotani

Publication number: 20040014261Abstract: Prior to converting a non-single crystal material of a semiconductor film into a single crystal material through the use of a laser beam, at least one dopant is introduced into whole of the semiconductor film. Then, the non-single crystal semiconductor film is irradiated with a laser beam to crystallize the semiconductor film. In this case, a ratio between quasi-fermi level of the single crystal material within one of transistor formation regions used to form transistors of different conductivity types and quasi-fermi level of the single crystal material within the other thereof is made to be between 0.5:1 and 2.0:1. Thus, transistors of different conductivity types are formed in the crystallized semiconductor film.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 11, 2003Publication date: January 22, 2004Applicant: NEC LCD Technologies, Ltd.Inventor: Mitsuasa Takahashi
