The connector includes a thread or other device for securing the connector to a complimentary connector provided the end of the infusion line. A second end of the needle extends beyond the thread or other device to permit the needle to pierce the injection site prior to engagement of the thread or other device with the complimentary connector and at least one of the two connectors is mounted for rotary movement relative to the needle and the injection site to permit the connectors to be secured together by rotary movement subsequent to piercing the needle through the injection site without rotating the needle.

    Abstract: An apparatus for the self-dosing of a liquid medicine. The apparatus includes a chamber formed in a casing for receiving a liquid medicine to be self-dosed by a patient, with an inlet and outlet port formed to communicate with the chamber free from leakage of the medicine. The apparatus further includes a piston fitted liquid-tightly in the chamber, a push button attached to and adapted to actuate the piston and which is capable of being pressed by the patient a desired number of times corresponding to an amount of liquid medicine to be dosed, and a spring urging the piston towards its home position. After the patient presses the button and removes his hand from the button, the spring forces the piston backwards to its home position and the resulting negative pressure causes a subsequent smooth refilling of the chamber. The apparatus, which is a simple structure and can be manufactured at a low cost, can be employed in an integrated system for the self-dosing of the liquid medicine.

    Abstract: A device for forming an inserting hole comprising at least two tubes having different outer diameters, and at least one of a guide wire and a sticking needle. A largest diameter tube has at its thick-walled end at least one longitudinal and approximately linear tearing line. The largest diameter tube, after being inserted into the body, can be torn using the tearing line and fixed to the skin of a patient by sewing a folded portion of the tube on the skin. The tube is not moved by the breathing or pressure since it is fixed to the skin. When the tearing line is formed by an ultrasonic cutter, width of the tearing line can be made narrow thereby preventing adhesion of bacteria to a cut portion and unexpected opening of the tearing line in the body.

    Abstract: A viscosity of liquids is measured by inserting one end of a fine tube into one end of a tubular vessel sealed and maintained at a reduced pressure, while dipping the other end of the fine tube in a liquid to be measured, to cause the liquid to flow into the the vessel through the fine tube under the influence of a difference in pressure between both ends of the fine tube, detecting an internal pressure of the tubular vessel with a pressure sensor connected to the vessel to measure a change of an internal pressure of the vessel with passage of time and a change of a flow rate of the liquid passing through the fine tube with passage of time, and determining a viscosity of the liquid from the change of the internal pressure of the vessel and the change of the flow rate of the liquid. The pressure sensor is connected to the vessel by a device for piercing the other stopper and its output signals are fed to a computer through an A/D converter to calculate the viscosity of the liquid.

    Abstract: A method for applying silicone oil to a back end of an injection needle having a hub with a center hole and a cannula inserting in the center hole, in which the cannula has a front end with a sharp bevel and a back end with another sharp bevel and the back end terminates within the hub. The method comprises allowing silicone-containing-liquid to continue to overflow at a constant rate of flow from a top end of a rising pipe having an inner diameter larger than an outer diameter of the cannula and an outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter of the hub, and concurrently dipping the back end into silicone-containing-liquid at the top end of the rising pipe. Silicone with no foreign matter can be applied to the injection needle while preventing adhesion of silicone containing liquid to the hub. The apparatus used for carrying out the method is also disclosed.

The plug portion of the blocking body is placed in a seal portion of the tubular body to close the tubular body and to prevent the passage of fluid. In use, a tip of a syringe and the like is inserted into the tubular body, so that there is formed a clearance between the outer wall of the plug portion and the inner wall of the seal portion. Fluid passes through the clearance and a fluid passage formed longitudinally on the supporting portion or on an inner wall of the tubular body.
