  • Patent number: 12069593
Abstract: The present subject matter relates to a method for controlling radio frequency, RF, emissions, including maintaining a number of power units below a maximum number within a time interval, wherein a power unit of the power units is indicative of an amount of radiated power for transmission of data. A data element to be transmitted may be received during the time interval. A number of the power units representing an amount of radiated power for the transmission of the data element may be determined. The data element may be transmitted depending on the current maintained number of power units and the determined number. The current maintained number of power units may be decreased by the determined number of power units if the data element is transmitted.

  • Patent number: 12063529
Abstract: A technical solution is proposed, which allows mobility experience to be improved by properly tuning Cell Individual Offset (CIO) and/or Time-To-Trigger (TTT) parameters in a wireless communication network. More specifically, information about a number of Handover (HO) attempts made between a source network node and each of its neighboring network nodes for a predefined period of time and a number of occurrences of each type of HO problems during the HO attempts are collected as a data vector. Then, for each “source network node—neighboring network node” pair, two data sub-vectors are obtained by aggregating the numbers from the data vector at a carrier level and an inter-node level, respectively. After that, the two data sub-vectors are used by an ensemble of two Machine-Learning models to predict whether the TTT and/or CIO parameters need to be changed.

  • Publication number: 20240267658
Abstract: A method and apparatus is proposed for performing the ONU activation process in a PON having a standard line rate of 50 G or higher. The method and apparatus are based upon having the OLT instruct any activating ONUs to transmit at a line rate that is less than 50 G, which allows for an OLT receiver without any particular equalization configuration to accurately recover the upstream burst-mode transmissions from the activating ONUs. Once the activation process is completed, the OLT may instruct the new ONUs to reset their transmitters to operate at the higher line rate of the PON. Alternatively, at the end of the activation process, the new ONUs may be configured to automatically reset their transmitters to higher line rate.

  • Patent number: 12058601
Abstract: A node includes a deterministic path that conveys packets from input ports to output ports via a deterministic switch. The node also includes a statistical path that conveys packets from the input ports to the output ports via a statistical switch. A deterministic scheduler selectively enables the first path or the second path based on traffic properties that indicate whether the packets are in a stochastic flow or a deterministic flow. In some cases, the deterministic scheduler includes timing circuitry that determines an arrival time of a packet at an input port of a node and enabling circuitry that generates signaling that selectively enables a first path for conveying the packet via a deterministic switch or a second path for conveying the packet via a statistical switch. The selection is based on whether the arrival time indicates that the packet is in a stochastic flow or a deterministic flow.

  • Publication number: 20240259109
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for compensating incoming signals in a receiver of an optical fiber communication system for degradation due to nonlinear optical effects in the transmission channel. The compensation is performed, inter alia, in circuitry to compute perturbation terms that are representative of predicted optical nonlinearity of the transmission channel, and circuitry to combine the perturbation terms with soft data symbols obtained from an input signal stream. The computation of the perturbation terms involves circuitry for converting an input stream of soft data symbols to an input stream of hard data symbols, and then operating on the input stream of hard data symbols according to a model of nonlinear effects in the transmission channel.

  • Patent number: 12052169
Abstract: A first router determines a designated router (DR) from a set of routers that are interconnected by a network based on a border gateway protocol (BGP). The set includes the first router. In response to the first router being the DR, the first router forms adjacencies with non-DR routers from the set and distributes reachability advertisements from the set of routers to the non-DR routers in the set. In response to the first router not being the DR, the first router forms an adjacency with the DR. The first router then conveys reachability advertisements to the DR and receives reachability advertisements from the routers in the set via the DR. The DR is determined based on receiving information at the first router indicating an identity of the DR, e.g., configuration information received from a controller, or by electing a DR based on priority values assigned to the routers and advertised in messages transmitted by the routers.
