Abstract: A pocket hole jig that includes a stop collar alignment cavity for properly axially aligning a stop collar along a drill bit is provided. The pocket hole jig may be part of a kit that also includes the drill bit and a stop collar. Methods of using the pocket hole jig and pocket hole jig kit are provided.
Abstract: A pen assembling press includes a base, a press unit, a carriage, and a positioning arrangement. Actuation of a lever moves an engagement head relative to the base along an actuation axis. A second engagement head is coaxial with the first engagement head. The carriage is movably mounted to the base. The positioning arrangement includes a slot, a plurality of recesses and a pin. The slot extends through the first leg in a direction perpendicular to the actuation axis. The slot has a constant height section having a height. The pin has a shaft and a head. The head is receivable in the recesses. The shaft has a thickness being substantially equal to the height of the constant height section of the slot. The pin is movable relative to the carriage along a pin axis that is perpendicular to the actuation axis to selectively engage and disengage the recesses.
Abstract: A template holding jig for holding a template for use with a router for routing a workpiece is provided. The holding jig may also be part of a workpiece joining jig that includes a plurality of templates. The template holding jig includes a template support, a workpiece support and a template guide. The template support defines a template support plane. The workpiece support defines a workpiece support plane extending perpendicular to the template support plane. The template guide defines at least one abutment preventing motion of a template located on the template support parallel to a first axis being parallel to the workpiece support plane and parallel to the template support plane. The at least one abutment permits motion of the template parallel to a second axis being orthogonal to the workpiece support plane and perpendicular to the first axis and parallel to the template support plane.
Abstract: An attachment for a router having a bit is provided. The attachment includes a frame, a first mounting aperture and a second mounting aperture. The frame member has a top side and a bottom side. The frame member has an opening therethrough configured to receive the bit therethrough when the router is attached to the top side of the frame member. The second mounting aperture is in the form of a mounting slot being adjustably positioned relative to the first mounting aperture to change an orientation of the second mounting aperture relative to the frame member and the first mounting aperture.
Abstract: A circle compass is provided. The circle compass includes a main body attachable to a router and an adjustable arm. The main body includes a central receiving aperture configured to receive a router bit or shaft therethrough. The adjustable arm is slidably attached to the main body and has a centering pin. The centering pin extends axially outward beyond a bottom side of the main body. The adjustable arm is slidable along an adjustment axis between a retracted position being associated with a smallest hole that can be formed and an extended position being associated with the largest hole that can be formed. The adjustable arm includes a clearance slot that at least partially aligns with the central receiving aperture of the main body through which the rotating portion of the router must extend to form a cut in the work piece.
Abstract: A crown molding hanger is provided. The crown molding hanger can be used to install a piece of crown molding requiring only the time and effort of a single craftsman. The crown molding hanger has a mounting member and a support member. The support member is removably coupled to the mounting member. In use, the mounting member is coupled to a surface via a coupler and then the support member is removably coupled to the mounting member. The support member has a support surface that engages and holds a length of crown molding while the coupler secures the mounting member, support member, and length of crown molding. The crown molding hanger can be reused many times while leaving no visible blemish to the wall during the typical installation process of a piece of crown molding using the crown molding hanger.
