  • Patent number: 6114585
Abstract: The present invention relates to a series of novel ether amine compounds prepared by the cyanobutylation reaction of an alcohol having 12 to 26 carbon atoms with 2-pentenenitrile to form a branched alkyl ether nitrile. The etheraminonitriles formed by the process are hydrogenated to form alkylether amines. The resulting product can be reacted with 2-pentenenitrile and hydrogenated to yield a polyamine.

  • Patent number: 6114481
Abstract: A catalyst system comprises an organometallic complex of a group 4 metal having a ketimide ligand. The organometallic complex preferably also contains a cyclic ligand which forms a delocalized pi-bond with the metal (such as a cyclopentadienyl-type ligand). Preferred organometallic complexes may be activated with a so-called "substantially non coordinating anion" to form a low cost cocatalyst system which is excellent for the preparation of olefin copolymers having both high molecular weight and very low density.

  • Patent number: 6100985
Abstract: A method for measuring at least one desired parameter of a patterned structure having a plurality of features defined by a certain process of its manufacturing. The structure represents a grid having at least one cycle formed of at least two locally adjacent elements having different optical properties in respect of an incident radiation. An optical model, based on at least some of the features of the structure is provided. The model is capable of determining theoretical data representative of photometric intensities of light components of different wavelengths specularly reflected from the structure and of calculating said at least one desired parameter of the structure. A measurement area, which is substantially larger than a surface area of the structure defined by the grid cycle, is illuminated by an incident radiation of a preset substantially wide wavelength range.

  • Patent number: 6085431
Abstract: A template assembly is provided for cutting an aperture in a deck. The template assembly comprises a pair of sized frames, one of which is positionable in spaced, parallel relationship relative to the other, and furthermore one of the sized frames extends over the deck. A bracket is included along an adjacent side edge of each of the sized frames, where the bracket adjustably vertically spaces each of the sized frames from the other. The bracket further includes a clamp for holding the bracket at a predetermined position. A retaining device is included for holding the sized frames at a fixed position against the deck.

  • Patent number: 6084042
Abstract: The present invention provides a Ziegler-Natta catalyst based on titanium and vanadium useful in solution processes for the polymerization of olefins having a low amount of aluminum and magnesium. The catalysts of the present invention have a molar ratio of magnesium to the first aluminum component from 4.0:1 to 8.0:1 and molar ratio of magnesium to titanium and vanadium from 4.0:1 to 8.0:1. The invention provides a novel catalyst preparation method to substantially increase the polymer molecular weight in the high temperature ethylene polymerization process.

  • Patent number: 6080796
Abstract: Insecticides, and particularly termiticides, may be dissolved in monomers polymerized to form foamable polymers, such as polystyrene. The resulting monomer and insecticide may then be polymerized in a conventional manner and either impregnated with a blowing agent or expanded using an extrusion process to produce polymeric foam having insecticidal properties. The polymer may also contain a flame retardant. Such polymers and the foam made therefrom may be used in the construction industry, particularly where insect infestation is a concern.

  • Patent number: 6076903
Abstract: A work station suitable for mounting office equipment, and particularly electrical equipment, including an elongate support beam and legs for mounting this beam in a horizontal position above a floor. Work surfaces are mounted on at least one side of this beam and a support wall is mounted on top of the beam. A support wall extension is mounted on top of this support wall so as to increase the overall height of the wall. A self-supporting equipment cabinet is connectible to one end of the support beam and has an access opening in at least one side located adjacent the end of the beam. This opening permits wiring and cable to extend from the cabinet into the beam. Support brackets with horizontal inner arm sections and steeply sloping intermediate arm sections are provided to connect work surface members to the beam.
