Abstract: Large volumes of recycled polyethylenes are available for reuse. It would be desirable to prepare films from recycled polyethylene, however, the technical demands for many types of films can make this very difficult. Provided herein are films, for example, stretch films; shrink films; films for vacuum packages and films for dunnage packaging, that may be prepared from a blend of recycled polyethylene with “virgin” polyethylene.

  • Publication number: 20220230703
Abstract: Disclosed is mapping complex inflammatory mechanisms in (Gulf War Illness) GWI to improve understanding of the immunologic underpinnings of GWI, the compounding effects of co-morbidity with post-traumatic stress disorder, and the potential of this co-morbidity to define a unique subtype of GWI. Predictive modeling assesses possible changes to putative treatments of GWI in the context of a probable PTSD diagnosis or lack thereof. A logic model is constructed to represent the neuroimmune system across the blood-brain barrier (BBB) connecting the central nervous system to blood-based system. Next, the model results of a GWI cohort are topologically compared with and without PTSD symptoms to mouse models of GWI in blood and use the corresponding neuroimmune states in a mouse brain to infer the blood-brain state of GWI subjects. This inference is then used to guide predictive modeling of treatment courses designed to return the overall neuroimmune system to healthy regulation.

  • Patent number: 11375198
Abstract: Signal data is processed at an encoder device. A representation of a signal at a first level of quality is obtained. The representation at the first level is upsampled using an upsampler in the encoder device to derive a preliminary representation of the signal at a second, higher level of quality. Adjustment data is derived using the representation at the first level as an input to an upsampling adjuster arranged in parallel with the upsampler in the encoder device. The adjustment data is useable by the encoder device to adjust the preliminary representation. The preliminary representation and the adjustment data are used to derive an adjusted representation of the signal at the second level. Residual data useable by a decoder device is derived, using the adjusted representation, to reconstruct a reference representation of the signal at the second level using the adjusted representation.
